1/12/25: Five stars for my experience of the staff and their work. The outpatient waiting room was almost full so I was expecting a long wait; it was little more than five minutes. The entrance foyer is a large open airy area which creates a sense of an uncluttered and modern feel. Unlike some posts on here who complained about cleanliness I certainly didn’t experience this. The only issue with the place is insufficient parking but that would appear to be owing to selfish folk who seem to use it to either park up before taking their children to the local school or others who are car sharing and hence leaving their car there all day.

It's a nice quiet hospital except they've started shutting the side entrance to stop the school children

Awful place ,Mental patients walking around threatening other patients which the nurses don’t seem to have any control over. Also the physiotherapists are bully’s who constantly bully elderly patients if they’re not feeling well “if you refuse one more time you’ll be struck off” It’s upsetting to see this kind of behaviour. There’s a few good nurses there but the physios need to be spoken too. Cruel people

I visited this bus stop outside the hospital with my six-month-old child and had to shelter from the rain. Unfortunately, two people were smoking inside, and the smoke made it very hard to breathe, especially for my child. This bus stop is “substantially enclosed” (roof and three glass walls), so smoking is legally prohibited (Health Act 2006). There is currently no “No Smoking” sign, and many people may be unaware of the law. It would be helpful if a clear “No Smoking” sign were installed to protect patients, children, and visitors.

YCC is our local hospital. Google seems to think its a store. I've been there many times for appointments and (currently) for repeated visits for care in the minor injury unit (saving me going to UHW or Morriston). Absolutely amazing staff on every visit from Minors to Phisio or Cardiology. Many thanks.

Very clean and helpful, happy staff. The carpark was very full and we had to wait for a car to pull out to get a space. At 15.30 the cafeteria was closed, there are 3 vending machines outside with a good selection of cold drinks and snacks. The hot drinks dispenser looked good and we would both have liked a hot drink but there were no cups! Someone had not refilled the cups which for a hospital of that size with a throughput of staff, patients and visitors is a pretty poor show. I did report it at reception and they were trying to find someone to refill the cups as I left.

What a lovely hospital nice and wide and spacious entrance .always quiet the hospital as a few wards and a dental section where last year's dentist work under supervision. Small AnE department not always open but to covid and not open evenings. Brilliant cafe on the first floor with an outside balcony overlooking the River cynon

A family member was at this hospital for nearly 6 weeks (before the Coronavirus Pandemic) and he received excellent care. The nursing staff were wonderful and I couldn't fault the care that he received. I also visited the Minor Injuries Unit myself on another occasion and received excellent care and was treated after a wait of just over thirty minutes, on a weekday afternoon.
