Had the pleasure of staying last Friday evening, very good value for money excellent staff. Rooms are clean and tidy and have been renovated fairly recently. I booked a single room (3) although small was very adequate and good value for money. highly recommended

Friendly staff aswell as locals. The room was great despite the floors needing a clean. Good location with courtyard view, despite the skip. Situated in the ideal place for the NEC.

Here is a very truthful review. Plenty to do in the area, pubs & eateries. Room was massive & very hot! Reception/bar/lounge needs a lot of money spent on it. So outdated. They are building a new bar/reception though. Very dirty which is so sad as it’s got a lot of potential. See pics - super bath tub but no plug. Bathroom had no soap in the dispensers. Window paint peeling off. Car park is (understanding) a builders yard

Check in at the end of the bar! Full of customers, very noisy, wifi not working to check in was just the start.. shown your room (no6) told they would need to use a master key to let us in as the key card machine was broken, lady was pleasant enough! Room looked ok but very cold, partner shut the windows and the noise from the pub below and the Main Street was ridiculous.. the wardrobe door hanging off the hinges was dangerous, I went to use the bathroom and it was game over! The cob webs the large spiders, the poo in the toilet, the hairs on the toilet seat and sink, the shower mould and orange body fat was enough to make me wretch!! The coldness in the toilet was due to a missing window pane.. What? ? Health and safety?? My partner went to reception to complain and ask someone to come to the room as it was unacceptable! Young man told us it’s to late to do anything about it so could offer us a refund, we told him most definitely and started to look at hotels round about.. after a 6hr drive this was ridiculous! The window pane is waiting to be fixed.. the cupboard just needs screwed together?? We found a travelodge then the man said I can offer you another room if you can come see that first.. we agreed but was apprehensive but my partner had a competition and we had to be up at 6am this was now nearly 1030pm, we were shown to a room in the courtyard, it was like night and day.. modern bright and clean room, it was 100x better than the “suite” of room 6 so agreed to be moved to this room! Mod cons of great shower (although it doesnt drain very well) and comfortable bed, no spiders cobwebs or broken windows in sight.. out like a light for our alarm call in morning! We are thankful they offered us another room as after a long drive and an early start the following day to find another hotel was just a hassle but we would have done so if they didn’t have anything else! Checked out on Sunday and the elderly gentleman told us the courtyard rooms are £70+ dearer than what we paid which I politely replied if the room we booked was fit to have guests in we wouldn’t be having this conversation… that’s on the hotel we were moved.. not us as guests!!

Firstly I will say, if you get one of the courtyard room, they're the reason this place has as high a rating as it does. My colleagues and I were initially put in these rooms, an hour later when we had just got comfortable we get knocks on our doors "sorry we've booked you into the wrong rooms, you're meant to be inside". The decapitated mouse I almost stepped on getting out of the car was an omen, I should have paid attention! My new room initially, smelt a bit musty, possibly a bit of stale smoke... Looked clean enough for a cheap hotel... Then I went into the bathroom, thick black mould on the ceiling that had certainly not suddenly appeared in the two weeks "Anton" was on holiday, that had been there a long time, someone had even made a weak attempt at painting over it and it had grown back through the paint. There was also water actively dripping through the spot light, and to cap it all off, someone had left a bit of "nose gold" next to the light switch. But it's ok, Anton tried to bribe me with a bottle of prosecco, who cares if I inhale mould spores and get electrocuted, I have cheap prosecco. My colleagues who had been willing to put up with their mouldy shower surround and windowsill with a massive hole, we collectively decided we'd rather drive the 3½ hours home and miss the 2nd day of the print show we were supposed to be attending than stay. There weren't any other rooms available anyway. Did I mention the cigarette butts absolutely everywhere too?

The room was nice and so we're the staff.... the only down fall was I was late for work due to small entrance blocked by brewery lorry for a while someone did arrive and try open the back gate which took a while but they did go the extra mile to help

PLEASE IGNORE THE POOR REVIEWS ON HERE..!!! Having booked this hotel for a Saturday night stay, I read the reviews and I must say was not looking forward to arriving...however it would appear that the people proving the poor reviews probably thought they had booked a 5 star hotel, which this is not. CHECKING IN When I arrived, I waited at the bar, when I enquired about checking in I was taken around to the quieter side whereby my details were confirmed and I was provided with a key card, the lady then kindly took me to my room to save me wandering around which usually happens, a great start. THE ROOM Was dated, basic, but for what I had paid was adequate, it was clean with no smell, the window opened onto the high street. There was hot water in the shower, slight stain on the bathroom ceiling but so what. I've stayed in many hotels, and this one as clean, the bed was comfortable and it had a nice feel to it. THE DISCO This is stated when you book so should come as no surprise, when we arrived back the noise in my room was loud, but instead of complaining I went downstairs and got a drink and joined in with the last hour of the disco, then came up to my room and slept. Many people have mentioned that when you open the door and walk in everyone stares at you, you have to remember that this is a local old town pub, which has it regulars and locals so when new people arrive they will look up and glance at you, but I didn't find it unnerving or unwelcoming, this is just the way it is, in fact some of the locals helped direct me to the door when I returned after checking in later that day as I was somewhat disorientated. Overall, a great experience, would I stay here again.....YES, great value for money...as the old saying goes you get what you pay for....and this is the case with The Coach Hotel.. Thank You

You get what you pay for. Comfortable bed is the best I can do on this. There is building work going on around the back so I'd say they were giving the entire hotel a refurb in the near future. It may well help the future of the hotel if that's the case. Didn't use the bar as it looked quite dodgy for my liking.
