First visit here booked for Christmas break was excited and feeling festive, but sadly my first impressions were not good as I'd hope. Two ladies on Reception, one polite the other made me feel like cattle. Told abruptly if you are checking in complete a form- all spread out on the desk. Given an envelope told key and wrist band inside read the pamphlet. I said never been here so where do I go, was told through car park, over bridge follow numbers. I found the chalet, basic but wasn't expecting more for the price. But there are some serious issues at this holiday park which I must mention. Firstly the restaurant. Queuing at most times , felt like minions not adults and the catering manager rude and abrupt with people. Trays and plates wet not dried before putting out. Buffet trolleys not on heated trays so food gets cold quickly. Getting a table depends on time you go for food .Only water given and orange juice when they decide. Two entrances to restaurant no organisation so very confusing people going round and standing. You have to keep gangway near kitchen clear so they can bring out the food on trolleys to refill the buffet , but get shouted at for not knowing. Heard loads of complaints about catering manager manor towards guests and witnessed it myself with a fellow guest. Run out of food at times, people arriving late told kitchen closed and refused a meal. Second problem, getting a seat or a table in the ballroom which is where the entertainment and games/bingo are played- good luck! People place items on the tables from early hours to reserve them while they go off for the day. Many people left without a table and just wondering around. My first night I went back to my chalet, spoke to other guests who did the same . Utter disgraceful, you go to Reception to complain about anything and they either hide away in thier office or say sorry we can't do anything because if they move items they get accused of stealing? They told me and others if nobody at the table just sit there. Why should guests have to confront other guests? I witnessed several arguments almost coming to blows! Honestly you couldn't make it up! Lastly, Christmas day dinner was served from 13.00- 15.00. We witnessed the queue didn't move so looked in and saw people were standing with thier trays as no free tables. Guests were eating then sitting and chatting as if at home. They should have been asked to leave so other guests could have thier sitting. It doesn't take much just to communicate with people, walk round ask if enjoyed meal, please can you return to the ballroom. Such a shame all this because truly what I ate was delicious but let down due to nobody taking control to organise. Sorry but this is outrageous, the catering manager should be fired for treating people the way she does and not supervising things. Noticed she shirks anyone who complains and doesn't even apologise. I know this is the last Pontins Resort and not surprised if they are run this way. Im just surprised that people complain but still return year after year? Bizarre. Anyway, must give a shout out to the lovely chefs and all other restaurant staff because they are so hard working and polite which was very welcomed.

Mould near the door, stairs on carpet, bath mat stained for inside shower. No towel mat to stand on when getting out of the shower. Coffee, tea and whitener has to last you a week if you use your 3 sachets of coffee etc you have to pay for more. Beds and towels etc not changed during your stay unless you stay over 7 days. No Window in room will not close. Room needs a good overhaul.

My first time staying at sand bay and for the price you can’t go wrong! For what you get it’s excellent! I agree that the rooms do need updating and a good clean before you get in! Problem with my heating on day one but that was sorted straight away! They need to check you have toilet paper in the toilet on day one so you don’t have to go and ask! The Rose Garden staff absolutely fantastic especially the tall male don’t know his name but what a service! Entertainment really good apart from the comedian he didn’t get many laughs! All staff were lovely and the company I was in was fantastic!

Had a really good weekend at the 60s/70s festival, with friends. Very good value. Good food ,great entertainment. Rooms are basic but clean, food is self service but plenty of choice and really nice.Bar staff were great and coped at busy times. Parking was easy and quite near to all rooms. There were quite a few people with mobility issues but seemed able to get around all the areas ok.The place and people seemed very good for these people.

Here until 2 January. Can't fault it for the price paid. Yes, rooms are a bit dated but clean. The Xmas eve entertainment was really great. Something to do all day long if you want it. Blue coats entertainment and quizzes etc.. All the staff work work so hard. Food is basic but generally OK. Some folk moaning about the queueing in the restaurant, but we make the queues so people should stop the moaning. Special thanks go to the teams behind the scenes. Well done to everyone . Credit where it's due.. Thanks Dave and Debbie

It's very basic room very small not comfortable beds at all you get kettle in room only few tea bags and coffee and sugar good job I took my own. Curtains had dust on them had a few spider web's spiders on the ceiling net curtains need washing windows dirty. Only good thing about the place was it had beach across the road which was beautiful to walk watch the sea coming in and out.

The beds are uncomfortable, the chalets are full of dirty cobwebs, not very warm but stifling hot in food Hall. The entertainment on Friday was great, but very poor PA system on the Sat so could not understand the words they sang so nobody was really listening. The must boring bingo I've every encountered. Fair play to the chefs for providing fairly tasty food for so many people. Generally the guest are messy, dirty and care only about themselves. You get what you pay for £105 for 3 nights half board motown weekend. Cheap lodging to meet up with friends. Bar reasonable priced. Extremely rude reception staff. It's like an old/fat peoples home. Under 50 and a size 20 you'll feel young and slim!
