We had an absolute fantastic stay here last night- the service was exemplary from start to finish. We had an amazing spa treatment, the pool was clean and not too over crowded. The restaurant service was above and beyond- Ben made the experience absolutely fantastic!!! He couldn’t do enough for us and the food was delicious! We highly recommend the Porterhouse sharing platter. The drinks served by Brandon were brilliant, he had excellent customer service and made us feel very welcome. A birthday treat my partner got for me, but we will definitely returning! Absolutely fantastic and made it a very enjoyable experience

My son purchased a voucher for us - a deluxe suite, after them both having a beautiful room. The deluxe suite was freezing cold, couldn’t even go into the bathroom without having to get dressed - it was so cold. Towel rail was on flat out also. Along with an irritating fan. The freestanding bath in the room (apparently this is why the room is deluxe) was not big enough to have 2 people comfortably in. Had to wait for the water to warm up before starting to fill. The tap was freestanding and floppy. Asked for a room change - apparently fully booked on a Wednesday night stay and had no other room to offer. Bed had lumps sticking into your back. Avoid the courtyard suite at all costs. Apparently the best rooms are given the earlier you arrive to the 3 pm check in. I did complete a survey hoping to hear back from the manager but obviously we are just a number Definitely not a 5 star experience. Stayed in better non rated rooms.

Lovely hotel all in all, however if you’re looking for a “spa break” I wouldn’t opt for this location. It has one indoor pool which is barely warm, and one sauna. That is it. Not to mention the timings are a couple of hours in the morning (7-10am) and a few hours in the evening 5-10pm only that you’re allowed to use these facilities. You pay a hefty £25pp to just use a small heated hot tub like pool outdoors for one whole hour 5-6pm. I think I speak for most of the guests staying in this hotel that it is ridiculously priced. something needs to change here as we had multiple conversations with other guests who stated they felt ripped off by this. My last pointer from the spa was that one of the main reception ladies did speak to us in a very passive aggressive manor, which I’ve also seen has been stated on reviews many times before. However, the breakfast we had was absolutely fantastic, the lady working here made up for what we had previously experienced as she was the most helpful and lovely lady. Spoilt for choice with breakfast. The rooms were also very large, beautifully decorated and fantastically clean. Impossible to get any taxis/ubers from the location if you’re hoping to get to and from Cardiff centre etc without driving. We did enjoy our stay, most likely won’t be staying again due to the lack of fairness with spa pricing, as that was what we mainly look for in a spa hotel/wellness centre.

Superb restaurant experience. 1st time here but not the last it doesn’t matter that this wonderful place is situated in the middle of an housing estate nor does it matter that the main car park is small and awkward, all that matters is the quality of service and food which is excellent. The standard of cookery and quality of the Welsh meats is of the highest order, my son and I both agree that the Chateaubriand was the best and most flavoursome we have ever tasted anywhere. The ‘Firey’ Scallops were an explosion of flavours that will provoke debate. The desserts were a delight and beautifully presented. Our young server Bonnie-Rae was excellent, polite and courteous, her manner enabled us to really enjoy a more relaxed and informal evening, she fully explained all courses including allergies and the extensive GF options.

Lanelay Hall Hotel & Spa was absolutely incredible!! We really wanted to stay longer but unfortunately for us, they were completely booked up. I can see why!! We cannot fault our stay. We stayed in the 'Edwards' suite & it was pure luxury!! A huge & luxurious room. We dined in the Blok restaurant & we can honestly say that it was the most incredible meal!! From start to finish we were well looked after & made to feel right at home by our server Carmen. I have a food allergy & every care was taken to ensure my meal was safe. The ambience was beautiful & relaxed. It was an absolute pleasure to dine at Blok. We wish we could have thanked the Chef & his staff for creating such a memorable meal personally, but they were so busy. In the morning we had a beautiful & very filling breakfast with, again, great service, from Rebecca. She made sure we had everything we needed & was so friendly. If we're ever lucky enough to return to Wales, we will absolutely stay again, only longer!!

Just returned from a stay here, can not fault a thing, the staff are friendly, nothing is too much trouble, the rooms are awesome, best nights sleep I've had in a long time. We had the afternoon tea which was really tasty, different choice of sandwiches + cakes, can't comment on the spa as we only used the swimming pool. Breakfast in the morning was plentiful with lots of choice. Will definitely return.

It is one of the most beautiful hotels that I have been in uk. The building is lovely, great atmosphere, very professional and polite staff. The swimming pool is gorgeous and relaxing, and the sauna is particularly perfect to spend a relaxing day. Unfortunately, I couldn't try the spa because it was already fully booked. We will book again to try it too. The room booked was a suit and is massively big compared with other suits, well decorated with a big open shower and lovely atmosphere lights. Well done...thank you

Visited with my daughter for brunch & spa treatment package, including use of spa facilities. The hot brunch was freshly cooked, very good & very well presented as was the cold buffet. Spa facilities great, particularly the outdoor jacuzzi which was lovely & warm. Relaxing full body massage was amazing! All staff very friendly & helpful. Relaxing atmosphere throughout the venue. Highly recommend & looking forward to my next visit.

What an amazing stay. From the start greeted with a warm smile and explained how the hotel worked. The staff in the bar were awesome and couldn't do enough for you. The room was amazing, we stayed in the master suite which was huge and had everything u could want from a room and so much more. We had food in the bar not the restaurant and that was amazing too the burger was beautifully cooked and the risotto was delicious also. Definitely 5*. My only grumble is not every window has an amazing view but you can't have everything. Would definitely recommend and return.

My wife and I had a fabulous stay and spa experience at Lanelay Hall. The spa was beautiful, lovely pool, gardens and decor. The spa treatment was fantastic, best I have had in a long time. Afternoon tea was delicious. As it was my wife's birthday they left a little birthday treat and a card in the room, which was a lovely touch. The room was beautiful. We went for a deluxe room and had a bathtub in the room, which was a very cool feature. Breakfast was lovely too. Only negative was that they weren't able to offer dinner, the evening we stayed, which meant making alternative arrangements. They did advise this upfront though and I'm sure are trying to resolve this so they can offer this to their customers. Thank you for a memorable stay
