They were so understanding when my cat had an emergency. He was seen to within hours, and he was really calm with the vet. He received great care and treatment. The staff were very friendly. Great experience, and my cat healed within a week.

Depends on the vet. I try to understand that veterinary care as a charity is very difficult, but I haven't been happy with the standard of care at times. I am grateful that during my personal rough patch, made worse by discovering the pet insurance we have wouldn't cover this particular issue, the PDSA could help. The veterinary care wasn't gold standard, but it was affordable.

Absolutely disgraceful place, my sisters dog was taken here in emergency she has a spinal injury and suspected ivdd. Was told its time to let her go? Putting my sister through an absolute stress state, when 2 days before told her pain killers would work. No compassion, not polite but unprofessionally spoken to and very rude staff. Leaving in such a state and taking her to another vet who was lovely and told her the dog didn't need to be put down for this she needed steroids and painkillers. This pdsa is a joke lots of people coming out crying probably having their animal put to sleep when it doesn't have to be.

Up to now this vet has helped a lot with my dogs but this weekend they have failed my chihuahua, my poor girl got this massive lump on her neck and it speeded to her cheek in a day after she was seen by PDSA they said it was a saliva grand when it was actually a abscess I ring them and told them what happened that her lump had popped and was bleeding a lot she couldn't even put her head down she was crying in pain and everything and they wouldn't see her till they opened at 9am and when I call them at 9am they still wouldn't see her so I had to ask a family member for a loan so I could get her seen by different vet and the other vet was amazing and said that pdsa should of drained it the day before when they saw her and should of given her more medication then they did and they shouldnt off sent away with wrong medication and won't info and tell me they see me again in 2 weeks? The new vet saw her today put her on right meds and drained it and wants to see her in 48 hours so we are now on right path but pdsa have failed me and my pet on this one and now I owe my family money. As soon as at start psda been washing with my chihuahua and my jack Russell in the past but this one time they was helpless.

Absolutely outstanding service, friendly staff, and very caring and compassionate. They're looking after my boy Benny with such care and attention. I would highly recommend PDSA Basildon to anyone who is looking for someone to love their pets as much as they do.

The PDSA are awesome they are without a doubt the best animal charity I've ever been to. Caring Vets and wonderful staff. The reception team seem stressed at times but generally are OK if you're polite they are professional. If you can give to PDSA please do. I donate when I can and will do until they out live me.

I have just put my dog on PDSA in Basildon and it states when you call that an emergency is when the dog is pain. Well my dog is crying he's eyes out he is in so much pain. But the receptionist that is not a qualified vet told us this is not an emergency and that we need to take him to a private vet. We are so poor we haven't even got one present in our house for Christmas... I bet she has, easy for her to say, what a scumbag. I didn't think it was her job to pry on the poor I thought she is meant to help the poor. UPDATE! Phoned back got through to lady called Karen. I explained everything with the previous phone call and what's happening with my dogs issue, she REMEDIED the problem and booked my dog in today. God bless her!

I have always been very happy with the way they have treated my nervous dog, they are gentle and firm in their diagnosis, which has always been spot on, I also get heard, which is important as I know my dog, also very affordable as I am on pension, I try and be as generous as possible as they rely on donations thank you!
