After a Personal Best session with Rob McInnes, I realised that although I was doing plenty of classes, I wasn’t really focusing on building strength — something I’d wanted to prioritise for a long time. That led me to start personal training sessions with him, and I only wish I’d started them sooner! Rob’s approach to PT is exactly what I needed. He has a calm, supportive style that makes the gym feel far less daunting, and he always listens carefully to any concerns about past or current injuries. Each session is tailored to help me build strength and stability where I need it most. He explains every exercise clearly, often linking movements to breathing — which I particularly value through my mindfulness practice — and he motivates me to push myself further than I ever would alone. Thanks to Rob, I now feel much more confident using the gym and excited about my progress. I would 100% recommend him to anyone new to strength training or to anyone who wants to get the most out of their membership with a personalised, thoughtful approach.

Hi, Nuffield is a lovely super friendly and brilliant gym. I have been coming to the gym for 15 / 20 years and always feel very welcome. Everyone is so helpful from the back office staff, to the friendly patient reception staff. The cafe staff are excellent too. All the instructors are really supportive, professional and friendly. I go to Rheas and Phoebe's legs bum and tums classes their classes are excellent. They make everyone feel at ease and are so understanding and supportive. I can highly recommend Nuffield Guiseley.

I’ve been a member here for (Canons then Nuffield) for about 20 years. The people (staff and clients) are really nice and there is a good club atmosphere. The pool area is very nice complete with sauna and steam room. Good range of classes to help mix things up. Nice cafe too. Only 4 stars because some of the gym equipment is getting old and needs better maintenance or replacement.

This is a great club, really friendly staff and a personal touch on every visit. I tried Pure Gym for a while because it was cheaper but have returned to Nuffield. Much better facilities including the pool, sauna and steam room. A great place to relax after work. The swimming instructors are also brilliant.

Essentially a child play ground, with the pool useless between 2pm until 6pm due to swimming lessons, which means the single lane having often 20 people getting in your way. Dangerous, as many collisions occur due to people trying to overtake in the middle. If you are serious about serious training, especially if swimming is a part of such, then I would look elsewhere. Upstairs in the gym, it is well stocked with a great selection of equipment, shame there are always a bunch of teenager group’s hogging apparatus for extended periods of time, taking turns back to back, meaning often needing to miss out crucial exercises from my training routine Friendly staff and clean. A shame that they prioritise as a leisure centre rather than gym. I am cancelling my membership and will look elsewhere.

Not a family gym as advertised. Gym and swim times for juniors are during the working day, not great for working parents. Swimming pool is viewed as a leisure pool, expect to be scowled at if you want to swim crawl. Policies change as frequently as the wind and no one has a clear understanding of what the policies are. As a result I joined Cookridge Hall, the difference is stark, much more family oriented, friendlier, a better functional fitness set up and a larger gym floor.

Radness ★★☆☆☆
Too many members for this size gym and especially pool. The pool only has two lanes, one of which is constantly booked for kids classes every day of the week. The pool is always crowded and therefore unsuitable for any sort of training. If you are lucky to go when both lanes are open you will find that noone cares about the slow and fast signs. Older/slower people paddle along and there is no staff to reinforce any order and make sure slow swimmers are in the slow lane. The gym is just as crowded as the pool.

Staff are great from cleaners to management. However there is a lack of new equipment in the gym for the price you pay. Too many members for a gym of that size. Equipment not put away by other gym members, people constantly on the phones taking 5 minutes between sets as they check social media. Therefore having to queue for equipment.

**Updated Review** I spoke with the manager of the gym who confirmed the issues I had experieced were not the norm and steps have been taken to address and resolve them which is positive. The gym pool, sauna and steam room are great and beat any similar facilities in locations nearby. The gym equipment is solid but some kit is usually out of order when I visit. I hope that this will change. Staff seem friendly, particularly the manager was approachable and eager to resolve any issues I had
