I love dining at the Ox, classy place with a warm welcome. Top quality, delicious food and fantastic cocktails. The staff is excellent, attentive without hovering, you are well looked after. Highly recommend.

Really liked my fillet. Nice service, good for a business dinner. Wine served was excellent. Friendly and decently prompt service. Steak was cooked to order which was medium. Maybe biased to a higher temperature than some other restaurants, but I prefer that to cooking too a temp below what I expect.

One of the best peppercorn sauce I have ever had in Bristol. Amazing salad selections, which for someone who has to have a veggie plate per meal, it is much appreciated. The staff was amazing, went above and beyond. The steak was obviously amazing and all the other reviews have covered it extensively, so I will talk about the side dishes. The scallops were a star for sure, must have. The chips were cooked to perfection, and the house Ceasar was not at all too creamy, but just right.

From the moment we stepped in we had a lovely welcome from the staff. Service was very quick and the food was brilliant. Particular shout out to the sprouts - they were unreal! There was a great selection of wines available too. The decor was lovely and matched the general atmosphere.

I had my Christmas party at The Ox last night with 13 of my clients. A really important night for me and my business. It couldn't have been in better hands. The service, from booking the table a few weeks ago, right through to the end of the night was really first class. As was the food, wine and even the bill was a pleasure to pay. Thanks guys. I'll be back

Definitely visiting again. Had the Early Bird with a bottle of beer and a glass of House Red and shared a cheeseboard. £36 absolutely banging meal. Steak was perfectly cooked medium rare, delicious, fries were crunchy and fluffy. Will definitely be a returning customer. Staff were smiley, attentive and happy to help. You want a steak dinner to remember, visit The Ox.

We came over for dinner, abit tricky to find as it's in a basement but when we stepped in first impression were really good. The place was setup to a high standard and the service was amazing. You won't be disappointed if you bring someone here for a date, It is definitely a romantic setting. If you are on a budget, do yourself a favour and look somewhere else! There is a wines, drinks and food menu which all had a variety to pick from. I had the OX steak house burger and it was the BEST BURGER I have had to date, the meat was spot on, even the chips were a statement. I would also recommend the Charcoal roasted mushrooms, best I've had to date. I tried my partners steak and it was alright, we all agreed the burger tasted better. Last but not least I would definitely recommend a visit here and I'll be happy coming back.

Dined here on a Saturday night, upon arrival the staff were friendly and welcoming. We waited for a short period while they prepared our table, with some water they provided. Our food arrived promptly and most importantly the steaks were great - the fries and sides good but not 5 star worthy! Overall a great meal out with amazing service, would return if in the area.

It was my partner’s first time visiting The Ox and I myself had not been here for quite some time so we were looking very forward to it. The staff were extremely helpful in regard to what we should order. We ended up sharing a T-Bone steak along with triple cooked fries, regular fries and some vegetables. Everything was cooked to perfection and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal - will definitely visit again soon!
