This is a warning to any pet owners needing emergency treatment. Do not use this practice under any circumstances. Go to Willows instead if you want to see your beloved pet again. This is supposed to be a 24/7 emergency vet, but on the night of 10/10/25, there were only two members of staff who supposedly could not do a full body scan, because they “didn’t have the staff”. My client’s young and healthy dog came in here for a Gastro issue in October and should have fully recovered if given the proper medical care required. Emma Baker gave this beloved dog something he shouldn’t have had, subsequently causing a rapid decline, resulting in his death. When my client went in to see her dog, she knew something wasn’t right, as he was in a worse state than when he arrived. Emma declared that she’d given him a drug they needed to reverse, but no further explanation was given. She was emotionless and cold, showing no care or sympathy whatsoever. Luckily my client had the sense to get a post mortem, and we now have the evidence of this vet’s negligence. Whatever she had given him caused this poor boy’s death, NOT the gastrointestinal emergency he went in for.

Very helpful practice, I arrived unannounced, with a cat in my arms, which I thought may be lost. They immediately assessed the cat, checked for a microchip(which it unfortunately didn’t have) and then leant me a pet carrier to take it back in. ALL FREE OF CHARGE. I later found out who the owner was and the cat was reunited with them, so that is a happy ending. I just wanted to say a big thank you to all the staff for their kindness, which is sometimes not shown in this day and age.

I should have written this weeks ago when my cat was seen at Medivet, but the anger hasn’t left me. What we experienced was nothing short of a disgrace. The vet who saw him, Margot (a young lady), barely did a proper check. She was cold, uninterested, and acted like our cat was just another number on the list. After a quick feel of his bladder, she declared it was the “size of an orange” and claimed he needed immediate surgery costing £2,500 — a number she seemed to pluck out of thin air. No compassion, no detailed explanation, just a scare tactic paired with a ridiculous price tag. We asked if she could help relieve him by expressing his bladder. She clearly didn’t want to be bothered, but eventually did it — and sure enough, urine came out. She gave us some medication and said we had 24 hours if we wanted to proceed with surgery. Three hours later, after arranging the finances, we called to go ahead. This is where the scam tactics became obvious. The receptionist coldly told us we’d have to pay the consultation fee AGAIN (over £100) even though we had just been there hours earlier for the exact same issue. When we refused to pay again, they showed zero empathy. Instead, their “solution” was to offer us a discount to put our cat to sleep. Let that sink in. They wouldn’t budge on their extortionate fees to save his life — but they were more than happy to cut the cost if we wanted to kill him. Absolutely sickening. The very next day, we took him to a small local vet practice. Thank God we did. They told us his bladder was perfectly fine. The problem was crystals in his urine, which is very common in male cats and does not require immediate surgery. They kindly prescribed special food, anti-inflammatories, and medication to dissolve the crystals, with a follow-up planned. That is what real vets do: they treat the animal with care, compassion, and honesty. In conclusion: Medivet are nothing more than greedy opportunists who use fear and emotional blackmail to squeeze money out of people at their most vulnerable. They care more about lining their pockets than saving lives. To even dangle euthanasia as a “discount option” shows exactly what they stand for. If you love your pets, keep them far away from this shameless, money-grabbing practice. They’d rather see your animal dead than lose out on profit.

Dr Tim took such great care of my little one. The front staff were very helpful and explained all the options and the price differences. Will definitely be back.

Excellent, knowledgable and caring staff. Excellent communication, especially if your pet needs to stay overnight. Many of our cats have been treated here.

Very professional, competent and friendly. They help my ferret get the medication he needed after being let down and messed around multiple times by a different veterinary practice in the area. They were clear and concise with communication and couldn't be more helpful. They received the history and did everything they could to order the medication asap and it actually worked out cheaper too which is an added bonus. I felt like they really cared about the animals as well as the distress it can cause to the ones that love them. They didn't charge any extra to be nice. I would highly recommend this veterinary practice.

What a fantastic team! They really do care about your pets and provide a great service. We have visited a few times and always left feeling very reassured and happy with our pup's care. Reception are always friendly and helpful. Big up to the nurses and especially Zoe. Zoe shows so much compassion for her clients and their pets, and takes the extra time to make you feel well looked after. Would definitely recommend this service 10/10.

Christian was a marvellous vet to deal with. I expressed that I had a none visible disability and he was wonderful. He was very gentle in how he spoke to us and broke down the cost to us [and money didn’t appear to be in their best interest, they put us and our rabbit first]. My assistance rabbit and I had to say goodbye, she had developed cancer. As could be seen, I was in shock because she had been adopted out to me as neutered. It wasn’t until 2 days before I realised she could not have been because of her symptoms. To say I felt angry at our other vet for not spotting this {at one of her regular visits} was an understatement. This team were deeply sympathetic, and it felt very genuine. The sudden discovery that I’d be lied to about my support animal was traumatic enough. Then, I lost her. I’m still not okay, but this vet deserves high praise. They also saw us on very short notice. We called not 20 mins earlier before the appointment, without question, they said “bring her to us and we’ll help her.” It’s experiences like this that restore your faith in people. Thank you, thank you very much.

My rescue cat and I have been genuinely impressed with the care given by Dr. Raymond and Nurse Zoe. I’m not going to lie – vet care in Britain is super expensive compared to where we’re recently moved from, but we’ve had plenty of follow-up appointments, calls and support included within the price we’ve paid, so we’ve felt really well looked after. The team are obviously very kind to animals, but they’re respectful and supportive to us humans too, which goes a long way when you’re worried about your pet and your wallet. I feel they’ve been totally up-front about the costs involved and the aftercare that will be needed, and have given us a really high level of service. In the nicest possible way I hope we don’t have to see them too often (healthy cat = best cat!) but I’d be happy to consider myself a lifelong customer if needed.
