Lovely staffs and doctors. My pup had her first vaccine with them without any issues

Sadly have pulled our 5 pets (soon to be 6) from this practice group, as the continuing rising costs (well above inflation) post ownership change, now EQT Group (private equity) being majority shareholder have left us questioning the value proposition, culture and all round care at what was previously such an awesome vets. The staff try their best, however we have voted with our feet, after paying the cancellation fee for leaving their ‘pet care plan’ and transferred all five of our pets to one of the few local but excellent privately owned run practice(s) that still offers that personal care when you need it, which sadly is so lacking at Oakfield Vet Group these days. Looking at more recent reviews we don’t appear to be the only ones reaching a similar conclusion. Such a shame as was so good.

Best vets around. Extremely professional friendly and caring. Would highly recommend to anyone. Even got in the back of my car to treat my dog when he was in too much pain to move ❤️

I am appalled at this surgery, I called up as I was very concerned about my dog’s breathing. They offered me an emergency appointment and when turning up did the basic checks but then informed me they did not offer the facilities at this practise to carry out an X-ray. For this I would need to go to a different branch. They clearly took this opportunity as simply a money grabbing exercise as any vet knowing the emergency was surrounding her breathing and knowing they didn’t have the correct facilities to properly investigate this would have advised me of this over the phone, so that I could take my dog to a practise who could fully investigate at the quickest convenience. However, they took it as a chance to take an emergency and then refer me to their other practises. I had also specified when calling up I was concerned about lung disease etc so the practise knowingly took the appointment with the knowledge they would not be appropriate for investigating my concerns. I have now followed up with another vet who instantly picked up on a heart murmur and a heart scan being required, which was not picked up by Kerina John who less than a week before had told me her heart was fine. For the health of your pets I would advise anyone to avoid this clinic.

I wouldn’t usually leave a review anywhere. However, I walked into the vets and went to the reception desk. Wasn’t even acknowledged by the 4 members off staff behind the desk. They didn’t even look up at me or say hello. Literally nothing. Absolutely bizarre. I was eventually told someone would be with me in a minute, but it was in a cold tone, almost like being there was an inconvenience. It’s totally put me off going which is a shame. Atleast acknowledge your customers by saying “hello” ?!?!

We have been taking our English bulldog to Oakfield since he was a puppy (14 months) and the service was always good but I want to comment on our last experience. 2 weeks ago our boy woke up and couldn’t urinate, we rang Oakfield and they asked us to bring him in which we did, the vet examined him and told us it was a swollen prostate and administered anti inflammatory medication. We were told this would fix the issue. 3 hours later we had to take him back and a catheter was fitted and we were advised he needed X-rays, obviously we agreed and let them go ahead. They found nothing and still said it was a swollen prostate. As they don’t provide overnight care we was told to take him to Solihull to a vet that could look after him, the least I say about that place is the best. When I picked him up from Solihull I was told to go back to Oakfield as he wasn’t any better, so we did, they took him in and tried something else, 2 hours later we got a phone call to come back where they explained they had no idea what it was. They referred us to another vet in Burton, we took him there, on arrival we were seen by a vet who asked us what the problem was, within 3 minutes he diagnosed it as bladder stones, Xrayed and operated on within 2 hours and now my boy is sorted thank god. Money has never been the issue with me but I spent £1500+ to be told they didn’t know what was wrong yet another surgery found it immediately.

Great vets very friendly and patient. Moved vets recently from another local practice that left a lot to be desired. 100% recommend oakfield to anyone!

Last week we very sadly had to have our beautiful boy Max put to sleep. Mikaella was amazing with us, so kind, caring and reassuring, she really helped us at such a difficult time. Today we went to pick his ashes up and unbeknown to me, the staff had included Max's pawprints and some of his fur. Thank you so very much, you all have made my Christmas that little bit happier, so thoughtful.
