We visited for a family work Christmas party and were left disappointed. First impressions werenβt great, with kitchen staff sitting on their phones in the dining area on arrival. The drinks were also poor. The rosΓ© tasted cheap and overly acidic and didnβt match the menu description. We tried another wine with the same issue and eventually opted for Prosecco, which was also low quality. The menu is quite pricey, so expectations were high. While the food looked good, it tasted reheated or previously frozen. A steak ordered medium rare was very undercooked inside. Although the waiter was accommodating and a discount was applied, the overall food quality didnβt justify the prices. Not the standard weβd expect.

My partner and I were given a gift card by a friend toward the cost of a meal at The Squirrel (Heavens Kitchen). We booked a table at the Godalming based restaurant and we were not disappointed! My partner had a 12oz Sirloin Steak and I had an 8oz Fillet Steak - they were superb (apart from a small amount of gristle in the Sirloin)! We both had our steaks medium rare and they were perfectly cooked and as sides, we both had chunky chips and shared a portion of Cheesy Mushrooms, which were also really nice! Although the menu is expensive and Heavens Kitchen is not somewhere we were choose normally, we were very happy with all of our food and the service was excellent. I would recommend this restaurant/pub to anyone wishing to experience first class Steak.

Nice country pub, very comfitable inside. We attended a Christmas party, the food was mostly good. I thought the main course was a little disappointingly. The atmosphere was nice and pleasant. The service was a little slow, but it was a full house.

Everything was perfect, from the Rib-eye steak to the amazing staff and service! A massive thank you for a lovely evening! Iβm not a fan of my birthday but the team here made it really hard not to enjoy, with a sweat treat and a surprise happy birthday song to celebrate. Definitely recommend!

Really nice pub, service and food, was very quiet for a Saturday night; but not a problem for me to be quiet and the service to be very attentive. Prices have gone up considerably to the published menus on google and the website, which is just the case everywhere; but be prepared to pay 30% more per meal. Specials board has some good choices and the standard menu has some really nice options. Food was prepared and presented very nicely. The pub is a little out of the way off the main dual carriageway (perhaps why it was quiet) so it is definitely a drive to get there, but I think it is worth the effort.

The woman serving us was clearing having a bad day (Sunday)...I felt sorry for the other staff working with her. Food average. Milkshakes- made my husbands tummy go out. Chips were nice! Decor was nice.

Nice little dog friendly pub located just off the A3. It serves as a hotel with dining area. The area is bright and clean with cream carpets and fresh crisp towel napkins. Wine glasses on the tables were spotless and so was the cutlery showing they care about presentation and attention to detail. Overall, a very clean venue. We sat in the pub area which is smaller but thereβs enough tables. Odd set up that you need to give your full name and contact number but that may be because of the hotel aspect. Cute little bar area. Traditionally we always order fish and chips to gauge a new venue. I believe a place can be judged on this staple dish. It did not disappoint. The portions were not too big or too small. The batter was crispy, not too oily and tasty. The cod flakes chunky. The chips were tasty too and crispy. Tartare sauce was good and they even gave us complimentary garlic bread with pesto dips for starters which was very tasty. My only criticism [minor one] was the chips and batter were slightly dark but not burnt suggesting possibly the fryer oil might need changing. It didnβt affect the taste to be fair. [This is my only criticism and a minor one at that]. We will be going back to sample the other dishes. The service was good. Staff were polite and attentive. The car park is nice and spacious. Outdoor seating area which is covered with roof and plastic sides for the winter months. The dog friendly touch made it the perfect spot to refuel in between walks.

Popped in for afternoon pint and something to eat. Bar staff and food OK but looking at receipt at home, disappointed to find I had been charged service , which apparently was optional but not mentioned. And that for bringing out 2 chicken burgers to the table. I know times are hard but that is sharp practise and on the strength of it, I won't return. Has this not happened, I wound have rated it higher. Check your bills before paying......

The food was excellent and the staff knowledgeable and attentive. The pub/ restaurant itself has been beautifully decorated and is light and airy. Only slight let down was the deserts - the menu had a very Italian feel to it, but the desserts are very basic British pub choices. I would have loved to have had a gorgeous tiramisu to finish our meal.
