I have used Downside cattery for two years now as I was bought a kitten for Father’s Day. I work away frequently and find the staff and facilities very welcoming. Millie seems to enjoy her stays, although she’s a cat and I can’t ask her. David,,Simone and Caroline are always helpful. Will always use Downside. Can’t fault the service and value for money.

My Ragdoll recently stayed at this cattery for a week , he's not an easy cat to look after but Simone did everything I asked and she also messaged me to let me know how he was getting on as I was really worried about leaving him, she told me he was fine and when I collected him he was absolutely fine ! All the accommodation is kept very clean, Simone was very friendly and I felt I could trust her to look after Lynx and if I need to use a cattery again in the future I will definitely return, thank you Simone and Casey ❀️

If I could give zero stars, I would. This has been an APPALLING EXPERIENCE. I phoned in the morning to collect our cat and politely (I am explaining everything literally) asked if it was possible to put him in his carrier before I arrived. The person abruptly replied, "What are you expecting me to do? Put him inside the carrier and take him out? What about the bill?" I didn’t understand the question, as all I had asked was whether it was possible to place him in the carrier. I explained this clearly and confirmed that of course I would be paying the bill. She then agreed to put him in the carrier. A few minutes later, she phoned back. She was extremely unprofessional, and the first thing she said was, "What do you expect me to do? Because you have a 'vicious' cat, I can't go near him," and she continued with her rudeness even though I remained calm. If they truly had experience with and love for cats, they would know that cats have different temperaments and must be handled with love, patience, and understanding. Labelling a cat as vicious simply because he is scared shows a lack of compassion and professionalism. I told her I was not happy with her attitude and explained that she could have simply and kindly informed me of the situation and asked me to do it myself when I arrived. As soon as I arrived, the first thing she asked was, "Are you paying the bill?" I was surprised by this question. I replied that of course I was. She then falsely claimed that I had told her over the phone that I wouldn’t pay. At this point, I had to say she I never said that. She insisted, but when I said I could prove that I never said it, she backtracked and said, "That’s what I understood," which made no sense because why wouldn’t I pay the bill? I took the cat while my husband stayed behind to settle the payment. She also complained that we hadn't brought an updated vaccination certificate. We brought on on his first visit however, they didn't ask one on this occasion, otherwise we would have brought it. Appalling customer service. No manners. No apologies, just constant attempts to justify their own poor behavior from the beginning. Now, they will probably respond to this review with yet another justification, when what they should be offering is an apology.

This was an extremely unpleasant experience. The staff were rude, unprofessional, and showed no real care or understanding for my cat. This was an extremely poor experience. The staff were unkind, unprofessional and showed no real care or understanding for my cat. Communication was unacceptable. There was no apology, only defensive behaviour. I do not recommend this place to anyone who values proper customer service and genuine care. They need to take feedback like this seriously and make major improvements to their attitude and professionalism.

Great care! Simone was absolutely lovely, and very kindly got there early as we'd had a long drive and she understood that the cats had already been in baskets for ages. Our two cats don't usually like each other, but they shared a Luxury Penthouse and have come out friends again... thank you so much! Thoroughly recommend.

Ever since my poor kitten of 5 months old has come back from the cattery on 11th September (he was there for 2 days) he has been really ill. Bad diarrhea , cant keep food down or water. took him to the vet which cost us over Β£65 for 3 injections . the vet said that he had been fed adult cat food and not kitten food and its made him really ill. i did stress to the cattery twice that he is only 5 months old and the response was "i better change his food then" i will never never bring my cat here ever again. Also they charged me an extra day because we couldn't pick him up on the Tuesday morning between 10-11 as we dropped him off at that time on Sunday 9th September and picked him up between 5-6 instead so he was there an extra 6 hours and got charged a full day. VERY ANGRY . NEVER AGAIN!!!!! *I will say most of the vet bills was covered today 3rd october, which i thank you for. There is no Mr Browning as we are not married but i will say the whole event was very long winded. Alfie was perkie when we picked him up but as soon as i saw him i did say his belly was big , and you was present at the time and he never ate anything on the tuesday we picked him up and on the wednesday when he started to be very ill and called the vet and got the earliest appointment possible on the thursday. I may also add as our discussion on the phone and in person that i never stated that the vet changed there minds on how our kitten got the ENTROCOLITIS, i said was "that if you look on the internet there is a number of ways he could of got this not necessarily the food, he could have got it from another cat, rotten food, something not cleaned properly" that is what i said so i dont appreciate you saying things that isnt true. I know Alfie was perfectly fit and well before he came to you as he had his 10 day check up appointment for his neutering the day before so his health before coming to you wasnt an issue. i an just happy that Alfie is back to normal now. and his wounds are all fully healed and he is happy. that was always my main concern I wish you all the best . many thanks *

My kitten was extremely ill after being in this cattery for 2 days...like my partner has said the vet advised us that he probably been fed adult cat food and it had made him very very unwell. We will NEVER EVER use this cattery again and i'd avoid them at all costs. cost us over Β£65 for injections because my kitten is suffering extremely bad !!
