I love the red lion, Anthony and his staff are very friendly and hard working. The red lion is dog friendly and I take my dog Lillie there often. And I love that the have dog treats at the reception desk. Natalia and Michaela always brings dog treats for Lillie.
The weekend staff were ok i believe they new what they were doing On monday the breakfast wasnt set out and i could hear the staff were grumbling together . I ordered a breakfast and it was covered in pepper. My bedroom was tiny. Mould in bathroom. Im sure with staff training the stay would be ok. I always believe to make people feel welcome is so important
We held my late mother's wake at the Red Lion and I just wanted to express my gratitude to the staff for their wonderful service. We had more people turn up than expected and needed more cups and plates, nothing was too much trouble for the staff, they made the whole experience stress free. There was plenty of tea of coffee and the food was exceptional. Thank you again!
The entire experience at the Red Lion in Atherstone was absolutely wonderful. We dined here with friends last weekend and enjoyed it so much that we returned for breakfast today. My pregnant wife ordered two English breakfasts and also asked for a fruit bowl for some extra nutrition, but we were told there weren’t any fruit bowls available. After we paid and sat down, Natalia came over with two pieces of fruit and said, “I know it’s not a fruit bowl, but here you go.” She even brought a bowl of water for our dog. That thoughtful gesture and attention to detail truly stood out. Exceptional service all around, we couldn’t recommend this place enough.
Lovely hotel, very clean good service. Rooms are compact but have everything you need including a clock if needed with full bathroom. Definitely recommend. Food lovely and breakfast cooked to order
We recently hired the function room at the hotel for a funeral reception which needed to be local to the church. Initially I was a little reluctant, however my expectations were exceeded: The event staff were excellent, absolutely nothing was too much trouble and they were very accommodating. The room was prepared and laid out to our requirements, with support to make changes as required. The timings of the food etc were seemless and didn’t notice them coming and going ensuring food was replenished and dirty crockery removed. The hotel itself whilst taking on a period interior could do with a little updating, however it was all very clean. Buffet options were good, although could do with a few more “healthy” options mixed in. Overall the team and the service they provided were excellent. Thank you for taking the stress out of a very difficult day.
They messed up my booking put me and my family in a single room. Quickly swapped to a family room. That was dirty and with a broken pull out bed. But we were that tired and p'd off we just accepted it to sleep
Good central location. Haven't stayed there. Had a large family dinner in a separate dining room. Fast service but got most of the order wrong. Happily changed it though . Food was all hot and delicious. No rush to leave after we'd finished eating.
Last minute booking due to everywhere closer being booked up. Quite an interesting building and well presented in the main areas. I was in the detached part which does need some updating. Clean and warm though and good value.
This hotel has a part of its hotel/rooms further down the road. Unusual set up but the work it well. Only fault is if it's then raining you could get wet going to and from their restaurant/bar. The bar and restaurant are well worth a visit, lovely food in a lovely environment to suit every taste. Good food, friendly service and good cleanliness standards
