I had a one night stay on 11/12/2025 with my husband. He's Irish, I'm Nigerian. We checked out at 12pm on the 12th and while we were waiting to check into another hotel and waiting for a taxi, we were waiting at the bar with our two dogs from 12:30pm. My husband left first around 15:30 with one of the dogs and I was waiting on another taxi to go with the other dog. As soon as my husband left, one of the staff approached me to say dogs were not allowed in the bar. They had 3 hours to have told us this but didn't until after the white guest with the dog left and it was just the black guest waiting with the other dog. I found the approach a bit dodgy and honestly quite racist.

Receptionist barged into room with his own key in the middle of the night just to ask us our name after we requested a new key. Lack of professionalism and respect. If we hadn't have seen him open the door unannounced, would he enter into the room whilst we were sleeping or possibly unclothed?

The hotel itself was really nice and clean rooms were spacious and pleasant with complimentary tea and coffee. It also had a fan in the room which was appreciated in this weather. Beds were clean and comfy with good pillows. Breakfast was ok with your standard English breakfast but there was no vegetarian or meat free alternative, so just beens mushrooms and eggs for vegetarian options, with cereal and pastries also on offer. The downside to this hotel was the that it seems to be in a deprived area with police seeming to be on call every other hour. There is an Aldi directly across from the hotel but was fronted by drug addicts and homeless however they didn't seem to cause any issues. So overall, not in the best area but I would stay here again but only as a layover for the night with the very cheap price playing the biggest part in that.

One to Avoid !! A Deeply Disappointing Stay at Travelodge Hatfield Central I feel compelled to share my experience at Travelodge Hatfield Central, as it was, without doubt, one of the most disappointing hotel stays I have encountered. Prospective guests deserve full transparency before making a booking. I chose this hotel based on several overly positive reviews I found online, which, in hindsight, proved to be completely unreliable and misleading. My experience was nowhere near what those comments had suggested. From the moment you enter the building, you are greeted by an unpleasant, musty odour that permeates both the reception area and the rooms. Cleanliness is clearly not a priorityβ€”the carpets are stained, and the overall state of the room feels poorly maintained and uninviting. The noise levels are unacceptable. The walls and floors are so thin that they allow sound to travel easily from adjacent rooms and hallways. In addition, the surrounding neighbourhood is extremely noisy, even at night, with disturbances continuing into the early hours. The rooms are also stiflingly hot in warm weather, with no air conditioning provided. A small desk fan is supplied instead, which is entirely ineffective. The window is tiny and barely opens, presumably due to safety regulations, further compounding the lack of ventilation and adding to a feeling of claustrophobia. Parking is outside and unsecured, adding to the general sense of discomfort. To make matters worse, the Β£9 breakfast is shockingly poor. The selection is minimal, and the quality of the food is far below what one should expectβ€”bland scrambled eggs, tasteless pastries, and weak coffee. Frankly, it’s not worth even half the price. In summary, this hotel fails on every basic frontβ€”cleanliness, comfort, value, and peace of mind. If you’re considering staying here based on positive online reviews, take them with extreme caution. They do not reflect the reality of what this hotel offers. I would strongly advise looking elsewhere!!

Arrived 8pm on New Year's Eve. Very grumpy receptionist who did not speak clearly and we had to request that he repeat some of the instructions. Some staff training is needed.(BTW we are not hard of hearing) Checked out the following morning...absolutely delightful and pleasant girl on reception. What extremes! Clean room and en-suite. Comfy bed.

The room was warm and clean, however, it was very noisy. The walls are paper thin and the window is not sound proofed. The bed was also too firm for me. The breakfast was ok but not great. The staff were all friendly and pleasant. Would I stay here again? No.

Perfect central location. Everything on doorstep. Had an issue with getting a twin room. Which after a battle was resolved. Probably the worst travelodge I've stayed in though. Ex convicts roaming the halls housed with breakfast and spending money by the council. Chicken bones under the bed. View from window was funny (just look down if you have the view of the extension). No housekeeping even after 4 days. Other guests getting hauled out in middle of night due to smoking and noise. A bit of a pong throughout our floor and room. You get what you pay for tho I guess.

Great location with free car parking. Plenty of shops and places to eat in the same complex as the Travelodge. The Galleria shopping centre is just a 5 min walk away. Room was very comfy and they also have a restaurant area next to reception.

Could do a lot better with some small tweaks. Room & w.c area were a good size. Parking was convenient. Good to have Aldi & Galleria in a stones throw distance. But room was noisy with a load party bar under our window, plus we could here upstairs guests whenever they moved around. Room smelt quite a bit. Water and shower room needed some fixing. Room numbers could be numbered more visibly along hallways. We could really have done with a good night's sleep before travel, but hardly slept at all at this hotel.
