This is a lovely place. We came for a wedding in the village, arrived early Friday evening and the bar staff were run off their feet but were working incredibly hard and couldn’t have been more friendly and welcoming. Food was great. Rooms aren’t luxurious but do the job very adequately.

Amazing table service and equally amazing food. By far one of the best pubs I been too this year. The ale is 100% faultless. Best I have had for ages. And I had a good 3 1/2 pints. Which is a little more than unusually have. But what can I say... It hit the spot! When that happens you have to take advantage of that.

Called in to have a nice meal in a country pub. There happened to be 4 very noisy young children that spoiled the ambiance of what should have been a nice experience. They were allowed to sit on table by themselves unsupervised whilst their parents sat at another table. Needless to say we ate up and left as quick as we could

The rooms a kind of unique and lovely, but keep in mind if any event will go on you might either not sleep early or you request for a room not directly over the pub. The staff and service was excellent. Food was delicious and if you like beer you can get there plenty.

Stayed here to visit family in Birmingham, arrived to a warm friendly welcome, we had our little dog with us, in other venues we stayed there have been restrictions on where we could sit, etc and other rules to follow, not here!!, It was so comfortable home from home, not relaxed to much on a weekend stay, we had a lovely self contained room on ground level , perfect as our dog is a little disabled, food fabulous, service superb, welcome wonderful. It's a beautiful old pub, like going back in time to how it should be beautiful coal fire, cosy bar area , large dining area , old but very clean. Looking forward to going back soon, thank you!

Wanted to stop by at an English village pub for a beer so got off the train from Birmingham and found this delightful gem of a place. Nice owner and friendly locals - will bring my wife when she is visiting from USA too for a meal. Village is lovely too.

Went there for what has become almost a Friday night regular visit. As usual the beer was cracking and faultless. Sadly tonight they decided to call last orders at 10.30pm. Spoke to the chap behind the bar who stated there were some problems with staff shortages and some of the pumps and that they had a really busy day tomorrow so had decided to close early. In normal circumstances totally understandable! However, some forewarning would have been appreciated especially given that 3 of us make an 8 -10 mile return journey to go and the other guy 16 miles. So a sign on the bar or a heads up at 8pm would have been really appreciated.

Lovely friendly staff and a nicely decorated pub. Could have spent longer there enjoying mulled wine if I wasn't driving. Very dog friendly, dogs in pretty much every area of the pub, not just confined to one space. Will be recommending and returning!
