Took my dog in for a full groom today and am very happy with the result. Not only did he come back nice and fresh and clean but also picked up on an ear infection I had not noticed. Can't thank them enough for such a wonderful service will definitely be making a return in the near future.
Turned up to take my dog for an appointment that I booked 6 weeks earlier. Told when I got there that he wasn’t booked in as I hadn’t done a pre payment. Also had my other dog booked tomorrow They couldn’t produce any evidence that the link had been sent, or that they’d even attempted to follow up on this. Claimed their emails had been deleted. No attempt to rectify or any accept any possibility that this could be their mistake - very clearly an issue on their end but just wanted to blame me. Amateur and immature approach to business and customer care.
I had an appointment booked with Ellie to groom my dog, and shortly before the scheduled date, I was messaged to ask if I could come the day before. I responded to say I wasn’t available — but after that, I received no further communication. On the day of the original appointment, I turned up as planned, only to find Ellie wasn’t working and wasn’t in. At no point was I informed that the appointment had been cancelled or that Ellie would not be there. There was no effort to follow up, reschedule, or communicate what had happened. I was simply told that no alternative appointments were available and that they were fully booked until six weeks later. Given that my dogs were already due a haircut and grooming is a welfare necessity for their breed, I had to push to get an appointment. Eventually, I was offered two separate appointments — one of which two weeks later and the other three weeks later — which I accepted out of necessity. These weren’t on my regular days off, so I had to take time off work to ensure the dogs were seen. There was no apology, no offer of a discount, and no recognition of the inconvenience caused — despite the fact that the missed appointment was due to their own internal miscommunication. I was still expected to pay full price for the rescheduled grooms. I’ve never left a review before, but sadly due to ongoing and further communication break down from what the pup groomers I’ve now felt it important to highlight this experience. Good communication and professionalism are essential in a business where clients trust you with their pets’ welfare. Sadly, this trust was undermined in this instance but also continues to be so.
I cannot recommend What the Pup enough! Compared to the previous ones I’ve used (3!) they have a better availability and are reliable! They send you booking confirmations, reminders, receipts, pictures. Very friendly and professional staff. And mainly my nervous dog actually lets them handle her! They managed to even clean her teeth which I haven’t been able to!
Took my pooch here, her first groom away from home. She loved it!! Was lovely and clean smelled good and her shiny coat was back!! We'll be back.
Absolutely fabulous. They were very kind and caring and very conscious of my dogs needs. The groom was good and I was very impressed with my whole experience. This was not my first choice of groomer but will definitely go there again. They ladies were so lovely and really put me at my ease. I was so worried about leaving my girl but the girls were so confident and caring and understanding. Excellent service all round.
