We had dinner with a party of 8 friends while on vacation and overall, we had a good time. There was a lot of hype around this restaurant, so expectations were high. The service was good but not great. The food, however, was delicious (everyone loved the chicken dish) so it made up for any lapse in attentive service. I would recommend eating here if in London.

I flew to London from New York in January for my birthday and went to the Chiltern as recommended by friends and I had the most amazing time! The vibe is off the chain! The staff was fantastic and the music was great! I danced the most I have in a long time. I will definitely be going back again on my next trip to London.

One of my favorite restaurants—fantastic atmosphere and excellent food. However, I took off one star due to a sneaky tipping setup. Our lunch for two was already £250 with the 15% service charge included, yet the card machine still asked for an additional 10-20% tip. When I questioned it, the waitress argued that the service charge was shared with the kitchen, and tips were just for her. This feels like a tactic to pressure customers into tipping twice. Great place, but this practice needs to change.

I recently stayed at the Chiltern Firehouse in London, and it was an absolutely unforgettable experience! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and effortlessly chic. The staff were incredibly attentive, making sure every detail of my stay was perfect. The food was outstanding! Every dish was crafted with such care and creativity. We started with some amazing appetisers, and the mains—wow! The cocktails were also top-notch, crafted with precision and flair. The stay itself was equally as impressive. The room was stylish and comfortable, offering a cozy yet luxurious vibe. The service was impeccable, and we felt well taken care of the entire time. It’s clear that every part of the experience at Chiltern Firehouse is designed to exceed expectations. If you’re looking for an unforgettable dining experience or a luxury stay in London, Chiltern Firehouse is the place to be. I can’t wait to return!

I had chosen the Chiltern Firehouse instead of the Wolseley as I loved the Californian look of the restaurant. What a mistake and waste of money. We had booked a table for three in the restaurant. This was the first issue, we were led past the nice booths to a basic wooden table and chairs in the back that looked like a grotty garden centre cafe. Our waiter was very good and snacks of fried chicken and crab donuts were nice , however main courses of sirloin and a day boat fish, while technically well cooked, were hugely over priced for the size and arrived on the plate with no accompaniment . So one small piece of fish arrives on a small plate with nothing else for £45!!! Not even a garnish. There was nothing to make it special so a small boring dish which was hugely expensive. £12 for a side of creamed spinach is robbery. It’s the sort of place that if you have an unlimited in budget and but are restricted in taste, you might think is fantastic. We wish we’d gone to the Wolsey, budget would have been the same but a far better experience and a better sense of value. One last thing. When presented with the machine to pay the bill - service charge already included -you get asked to leave a further tip just for the waiter. Too late to knock off the service charge - at the prices charged can’t the hotel pay a professional wage…

My wife and her friends have been looking forward to visiting the Chiltern Firehouse for a while, so our friend decided to have their birthday dinner here. I would like to say that our server was great and we had no issue with him (Alex) great energy and explained the menu very well. The food - We ordered a mix of things. Personally the food for its price point wasn’t great at all. I have had better food at place far less “hyped”. As we sat at our table, we mentioned no alcohol as we do not drink. When we ordered the birthday dessert for our friend, it had alcohol in it, yet it was not mentioned to us when we asked for it. We were only told once we asked why the dessert was so bitter. (We do not drink as we are Muslim). The menu has two prices for all the items, assuming medium and large plates. We were charged for large plates (we were not asked or told the difference between the two). We spent £440 between 4 people and it was very unsatisfactory. They also rushed us to pay and leave as they had the table booked after us. Personally I don’t understand the hype around this spot, i wouldn’t definitely not go there for food again. Gutted as we expected better.

Unfortunately, very disappointed. The restaurant was pretty empty when they seated us for brunch, and did so right next to the only other couple in the area. Then my wife ordered two oysters (as appetizer) and the special pasta (30£) and I ordered the Eggs Benedict (for my main). They brought my Benedict at the same time as her oysters, which left her watching me eat my main, and me watching her eat her main 20 mins later. And the mains…they were essentially half serving sizes. Very disappointing. However, the restaurant seems lovely, the staff was perfectly nice, and our flat whites were good. All in all, for over £117, this rating gets no more than 1 star. Oh! And beware. They add 15% automatically for gratuity, but still have a tip-line on the bill. I find that sneaky, frankly. Poor execution, overpriced food. Sorry.

I made a reservation for dinner and asked for a nice table as it was our anniversary and they couldn't have been lovelier — honestly the nicest staff of anyplace I have been to in London. They gave us a gorgeous table, our server was charming and helpful and the maître d and host/hostesses were delightful and engaging. The drinks and food are great, but yes, it is on the pricier side so go in with your eyes open (I recommend looking at the menu online beforehand if this is a concern). They really made it a perfect night for us and I think that's important to point out as there are some reviews here that say people are rude, slow, etc., and it they made me nervous, but thankfully, that wasn't our experience at all. It was a charming, elegant, glamorous and fun vibe — everything I hoped it would be. Definitely go and experience it yourself.

Can only comment on the restaurant for brunch. We had a great experience for brunch. We were seated immediately at the time of our reservation, at a great cozy table by the fireplace. Service was great, prompt and friendly. Food was also delicious. The waffles with trout roe, eggs Benedict with lobster and scrambled eggs with truffle all delicious and well prepared. Lobster was ever so slightly overcooked, but wasn't a huge detriment. Tea and cappucino were also great. Overall had a delicious brunch in a very cozy atmosphere.

We had an amazing dinning experience. The service is excellent. The staff are friendly, helpful and very attentive. The food we ordered exceeds our taste expectations, it was DIVINE. (Compliments to the all chefs). The cocktail drinks was simply wonderful and refreshing. We will definitely comeback and without a doubt, we will recommend this restaurant to others.
