A very large reserve. With about 30 hides to visit you will need to be selective if you are only there for one day. All hides we entered had identification guides on the walls and were in good condition. A well maintained path network between hides. A large visitor centre with a viewing gallery.

Great hide......good for viewing the vast variety of water fowl and other wild birds that thrive at this huge and grand resivoir...... Osprey are also to be seen at this location,,.....* The extremely Talon'ted Fishing Birds of prey -......... There is a great deal to do ,and see at this location, the hides are very well positioned to observe most of the aquatic wildlife....take a few hours and wonder down the winding pathways and listen to all the bird song.... So relaxing... .

My partner and I visited today for a walk, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The weather was beautiful, and the scenery was absolutely stunning. Rutland Water never fails to impress—it's always a wonderful place to unwind and enjoy nature/ scenery. It was nice to see a lot of sheep and lambs.

This vast expanse of water offers a variety of opportunities to take long or short walks. Or cycling on its well maintained paths, if you feel adventurous, a full circle of the reserve is only 25 miles. I settled for a 5 to 6 mile hike in superb sunshine. I also got sight of the Osprey in flight over the water. You can visit the Osprey reserve at nearby Lyndle for a fee. The views across Rutland are stunning and there are numerous benches available to just relax and soak it all in. We even caught a wedding in the lakeside church.

This is a fantastic place, too much to explore in 1 day so will have to return. We went to the bird watching centre and there are so many walks and hides it's amazing. The thing I wanted to know that I couldn't find anywhere prior to visiting was if binoculars could be hired as i had forgot mine and thankfully they do hire them out so that made my day. Staff were super helpful and friendly. Definitely worth a visit for nature lovers and twitchers experienced or not.

A fun filled day riding bikes with friends around the park, took us like 3 hours to go round but was worth it. Recommend your bicycle is in top shape or you can always rent from the shop and they do repairs as well. Great place for family and friends

Good place to visit. It has north beach and south beach with parking. There is a visitor centre with a cafe and toilets. There is a lovely church that just out into the water. You can walk round the outside of it. ( used to be open ) also a boat ride round the reservoir not far from the church... worth a visit... hope to post photos...

I literally love it, Just the perfect place to know at its best the wild life of the aerea together with some well positioned hides to admire birds flying around the little ponds. I recommend everyone coming to the Rutland water area to visit and maybe have a guided tour of the reserve.
