   There are a few good things about this gym: it’s always clean and the staff are genuinely friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The membership is very expensive, and there’s no option to pay for gym access only – it’s gym and pool bundled together for £39 a month, whether you use the pool or not. That feels unfair as I don’t swim! While most of the cardio machines are new and work very well, many of the other machines are seriously outdated and RUSTY, which is a health and safety concern. For the price I’m paying, I expect well-maintained equipment, not machines that look like they’ve been there since the 90s. The ceiling is also in terrible shape. The suspended ceiling tiles are either stained brown, missing entirely, or just look horrible. These are simple, inexpensive fixes, yet no effort has been made to replace them. If there were any other gym nearby, I wouldn’t hesitate to switch.

   Friendly staff, is my local leisure centre, I love the gym and my circuits class on Fridays here. The only downside is trying to enter the gym using the app, was much better and easier when they used the facial recognition camera.

   Usually not too busy. Have a good range of cardio and weighted machines. Could do with another squat rack and some free space for stretching. Also the toilet is awkward to get to from the gym. Have no used any other facilities.

   The friendly staff at Fairwater Leisure Centre have worked very hard to ensure the Changing Rooms are back in use before and after using the pool. All the staff, at Reception and Poolside, make people of all ages welcome. Many people with long-term health conditions rely on this pool to help manage and maintain stability and mobility, because of its depth and temperature, as well as the support and good humour of the staff, for which we are very grateful.
