   We visited this café expecting a pleasant meal and instead left feeling frustrated, embarrassed, and upset. My mum ordered a soup and, after an absurd 40-minute wait, it arrived tasting burnt, with toast that somehow wasn’t even toasted. When I went up to explain that something was wrong, Kim W was incredibly rude and dismissive. She repeatedly suggested that I was lying about the soup being burnt and turned a simple issue into an unnecessarily uncomfortable confrontation. When she came over again, there was no apology whatsoever. Instead, she escalated the situation further by insisting that everything is made in the same way and therefore “all tastes the same” — which was clearly not true, as when the soup came back, it tasted completely different. Having worked in hospitality myself, I know that the basic standard is to make customers feel listened to, respected, and at ease. Kim W did the exact opposite. Her attitude lacked professionalism, empathy, and basic customer service skills. Most upsetting of all, my mum, who has special needs, was left feeling embarrassed and distressed by how this was handled. What should have been a simple fix turned into an upsetting experience that could have been entirely avoided. We will not be returning, and I would seriously question the level of customer care at this café.

   We have come here for our yearly Christmas meal as a tradition for the last 6 years. Unfortunately we have left dissapointed 3 years in a row now. It only has gotten worse. We have ordered our drinks and main meal being Turkey wrapped in bacon that supposed to come with pigs in blankets, roast potatoes, brussel sprouts and other seasonal veg. The portion was the smallest ever since we been coming and as we started eating we realised that we were missing the pigs in blankets. I understand that mistakes happen but the meal itself wasnt good. The turkey was dry and tasted like it was left out under heatlamps for a long time. Roast potatoes were cooked prior and left to cool so when roasted they tasted stale and dry. Almost felt like they were roasted dry with no seasoning or fat. Then as i was eating the braised cabbage i had crunched on a pip of some sorts. Must have been anise star which wasnt pleasant at all. Trust me for someone who doesnt lile liquorice it was very similar. Then comes the service. The cafe was not busy at all and no one has come to ask how everything was. Every year before a staff member has always asked. So if youre paying £15.99 for a main you expect it to be at least nice or a larger portion. Would not reccomend and honestly money back would have been the only option for this.

   I'm here often, the coffee is great and the cakes on offer are excellent! In spring, summer, and later autumn, you can sit outside on a lovely warm terrace and be served your drinks and food. It's my time out space, I've often come here to stop, think, and look for a while and the staff are always friendly and helpful too. Plus the added advantage of beautiful cake, the pear cake is delicious and with a great latte your well on your way to a great pit stop and top up to set you right for the rest of the day!

   It looks like a lovely relaxing quaint English tea room which is very good for a garden centre but was disappointed in their gluten free apple and plum cake slice. It had a strange texture and lacked flavour. My dad had a bakewell slice which he said was delicious. The drinks were nice. Hot chocolate with coconut milk was delicious costing £4. It's table service but paid at the counter. We have been here several times but this is the first time trying gluten free cake. I am happy to see they catered for different dietary requirements.

   There was a notice saying aplogising stating they were understaffed so a full menu may not be available. But all the staff were clearly working extremely hard and were attentive. You wouldn't have known. Very busy and there was a small wait to be seated. You could have a light bite or lunch. We opted for lunch. Our meals were very reasonably priced and perfectly acceptable. However, sadly my friend didn't enjoy her main at all (pesto, quinoa salad) and she isn't a fussy eater at all and felt something tasted odd. Normally I would have mentioned it but the staff were working so hard and were so kind, I didn't have the heart. I do feel that £2.30 for a small bottle of water is unreasonable; which my friend had. I opted for tap water.

   Lovely place to sit and watch the world go by ..... Good food and charming staff, all within a great garden centre......My only comment is that they do not serve real chips and these tiny little twigs that end up being cold and mushy.....and please make the full English breakfast and all day item rather than finishing at 11 am

   This is a nice place to have a good tea or coffee and food. The prices are just a little higher than usual but it's quiet quality and spaced apart tables, the service and the helpful staff justify this. The only criticism I have is that the menue has changed and smaller"eats" like a simple bacon sandwich - which they used to serve - are no longer available and they were very good. That apart, good food well served in pleasant surroundings. Worth a visit. Disabled friendly . Somewhat cheaper cafeteria available. Outside play area where a packed lunch or snack can be enjoyed . Free car park and great garden centre. Can get busy when the schools are on holiday and when the weather is good. Christmas decoration displays are stunning.

   Great coffee shop, bright and airy, with easy access. Relaxed outside seating on the terrace with parasols to keep you cool. Excellent choice of lunches, desserts and cakes. The staff are lovely and keep everything immaculately clean. It's not the cheapest place to eat but it's good value for the quality on offer.

   Had a fantastic meal with family, so there was six of us. They actually use real tea cups and tea leaves!. Staff were very attentive. Food was absolutely brilliant. It was obvious the had a fantastic chef. Wonderful deserts. The place was spotless. Will be going again.
