Fantastic experience in the lounge. The meal was delicious, and the drinks selection was genuinely impressive. Dawid and the team made me feel looked after from start to finish, and the atmosphere was exactly what you want when you are unwinding. Highly recommend for great service and quality drinks.

I dropped into the lounge and was genuinely impressed. The meal was full of flavour, and the drinks list had something for every taste. Dawid and his team were welcoming and sharp, keeping everything running smoothly without ever feeling rushed. A standout spot for anyone wanting good food, good drinks, and proper hospitality.

We booked a stay at the hotel which included the meals here, the on-site restaurant was the weakest part of our stay. While the hotel and spa were excellent, the breakfasts, afternoon tea, and dinner fell far short of expectations for a five-star hotel. Dinner On our first night we had the steak with blackberry jus and the pumpkin risotto. Both dishes looked appealing but were bland and lacked depth of flavour. I had requested my steak rare, but was told that because the steaks were cooked sous-vide in advance, this wasn’t possible, disappointing for a restaurant in a five star hotel. Our meal also included a side, a starter, two cocktails and a dessert. In total the bill came to around £150. The following night, when dinner wasn’t included, we ordered from a local Bath restaurant for less than half the price (even accounting for drinks); the quality and flavour were far superior. Breakfast On the first morning I ordered eggs royale, and on the second morning, avocado toast (photo attached — it speaks for itself). My partner had the full english both mornings, and the quality was very poor; we’ve genuinely had far better at our local greasy spoon. Afternoon Tea This was visually underwhelming, with soggy sandwiches, slightly stale scones, and cakes that seemed mass-produced. Staff The service, was excellent, but it's clear they are understaffed. Nam and Adam were absolutely wonderful throughout, doing their best under pressure while stretched thin covering seating, serving, and clearing tables all at once. Their smiles, patience, and kindness helped redeem the experience. They were easily the highlight of the restaurant. Constructive feedback for the restaurant: 1. Re-evaluate the food offering; the pricing and quality don’t currently match up - especially given the five-star hotel setting. 2. Extend breakfast service until midday. The restaurant is part of a spa resort I don't think it's outrageous to suggest guests might want to sleep in. At 8:30am on a Thursday, there were queues out the door. 3. Hire more staff for breakfast service. The team did their best but were visibly overstretched. Nam and Adam in particular deserve recognition for their professionalism and positive attitude.

The restaurant is beautiful and the food is very, very good. It is a little on the pricey side for very very small portions and you do have to order a side dish to bulk it out a little. An alternative to the dining area is to have casual dining in a different location of the hotel. The burgers were divine even if they were very pricey.

The food was nice but portions are so small for what you pay. Barely half a fillet of sea bass for mains and 3 scallops for starters. Service was below average, not busy but our staters came out before our wine, our waiter waved off the server when he saw them coming out so they sat on a bench while we waited for him to get the wine. Lamb was advertised as a rump, we were then told it would be ribs but it ended up arriving as some slow cook shredded dish. And with such poor service they then hit you up for a 12.5% service charge. £120 for just the food for 2 people 2 courses and we left hungry.

We stayed at the hotel and had a 3-course dinner with a bottle of wine at the restaurant. We've never dined in such a grand hall, so it was something different to experience. There were only a few other people in there, so it was very quiet more like in a museum. The service was top as well as the food including the presentation.

Service was fine but had to send back overcooked seafood and pasta which was very poor. Replaced by steak and a vegetarian meal which were pleasant enough. Disappointed. The waitress is to be commended for how helpful she was.

This restaurant is hugely underwhelming for the price. The dining hall is drab and boring.. it feels like a wake for a funeral. The food quality and cooking is so poor it's unbelievable. They charged £30 for a badly cook steak which was of poor quality meat. A small (cup size) chips was £7 and they were average at best. At breakfast, the Eggs Benedict was pretty much anaemic. The eggs were over cooked and looked like they were shop bought rather than sourced from any local farm etc - you can tell farm bought eggs because they look almost orange in the yoke. These were a pale yellow indicating the chickens didn't go out much / kept in barns. I am sure there are many good restaurants to try in Bath that you could find through Google maps. Definitely give this one a miss.

Food is ok (not what you’d expect from the restaurant of a 5 stars hotel, but ok) Service is disappointing. We had 2 breakfast and 2 dinners there. Every time there were problems with our orders (wrong, missing ingredients, late, etc). The breakfast buffet runs out soon. Personnel is friendly but clearly not operating at the level needed for a 5 stars hotel restaurant.

The atmosphere in this restaurant should definitely be improved; we indeed felt like we are at a funeral. We loved mushroom risotto. Other dishes were just okay. The staff was here and there, we had to search for them to order additional items. If you are staying at the MacDonald Bath Spa, I’d recommend going to the city centre for a dinner. It offers many great places, and it is just 15 min walk or 5 min Uber ride away.
