We booked a table, then in two weeks before our visit the reviews were not very good so I became a little concerned, I needn't of though as our visit was wonderful, the staff were really friendly, helpful and attentive, the food was delicious and came out in a very reasonable time considering the place was very busy, we sat upstairs for our meal overlooking the bar and the live band which started playing at 7pm after our meal we moved downstairs and sat listening to the band while enjoying a few more drinks, we had a lovely time here and we will definitely return when staying in Bath in the future. I would like to thank all the staff that were working on the evening of Friday 19th December as you all did a wonderful job keep up the good work guy's and girls. Merry Christmas and a happy New year.

I absolutely adore the vibe. The dark, quirky atmosphere is just perfect for late autumn. The cocktails are exquisite (unfortunately only the 'classic' cocktails are included in the 2-4-1 happy hour deal). The main course was good and very well presented. The dessert was a work of art! The wait times were long, even just for drinks (especially considering they only allow you a two hour slot and you can barely be served within that time). The staff didn't seem very experienced and a couple of times they had to go off and seek the advice of others. Nevertheless, I'd return just for the atmosphere of the place.

What an exquisite building, and it's many uses, steeped in history, before being adapted to this wonderful restaurant! The first time I'd been recommended by my Daughter and her husband. I went to Bath for a two night stay with two friends, who also had not visited before. We all agreed it was a fabulous evening! It was most certainly a treat, likewise was the food! The Sunday roast was very tasty and with unlimited yorkshire puddings & gravy. We did book our table. The service was swift and attentive!

We’ll definitely be returning! The atmosphere is fantastic, full of charm and character, and the service couldn’t have been more efficient or friendly. I did miss the bit about pouring the sauce over the hanging kebab, but even so the food was delicious. It was also such a pleasure to find a place that’s dog-friendly around the bar area — so often you feel pushed aside, but here we felt truly welcomed and included. A wonderful experience all round.

Went here after seeing it on First Dates. The place is absolutely amazing, its beautiful. One of the best restaurants I think I've been to. The service is very good. Wasn't hugely impressed with the food though. Did expect better. The food was good, not bad. Still, very much, worth coming to though. My gravy was cold and my partners steak was quite dry. Neither were worth asking to be rectified but did detract from our experience.

Great spot for drinks (downstairs) and good food (upstairs) Me and my partner had a few drinks and food at Botanist. Stunning venue with a circular presence. The bar is downstairs and benefits from ordering via NFC or QR codes and you dine upstairs. I strongly advise booking as it gets busy! Table was ready bang on our booked time slot and the service was very fast. Food tasted great and it’s fairly price. Cannot complain and would recommend to others!

There are a couple of other locations throughout the UK but don’t pass it by because it’s a chain. The Bath location has an amazing venue, called the Octagon. Drinks are downstairs and food is upstairs on an octagonal-shaped platform overlooking the bar. They’re allergen friendly and have many options for vegan, gluten-free, etc. The waiter we had was the sweetest little boy. I say that because he was 19… He was so genuinely excited to be serving us and wanted to stay and chat while we ate. He made sure our meal and experience at the Botanist was one we would remember, and he did! Try the famous hanging kebabs. You won’t be sorry you did.

Tucked away down a small door is a corridor. In there, is a hidden gem in The Botanist. This visit was around 18:00 in the evening. It’s a beautiful hidden location with 2 levels. From the balcony, it’s looks fabulous with a great view of the circular bar area and a tree sprouting out of the middle. The drinks are really good and taste great. If you want to have a custom drink, they can do that too. The food options are great and we had a Camembert which was oozing with evil. I felt terrible after eating because it was so good. The main issue I had was that we ordered food which I think was given to the wrong table so it took a bit longer than it should have. Frustrating but no really drama. The staff are great, knowledgeable and friendly and I would definitely recommend going.

A beautiful, stunning building inside which makes it worth the visit itself. The old pillars and amazing ceiling are just beautiful. We only came here for drinks but it was a lovely calm environment to sit in and enjoy ourselves. I had a lovely glass of Viognier but I thought price was a little bit on the nose. Service /barman was great though and I will be going back. Overall a gorgeous environment and lovely time.

Dined here one evening recently and had a great time. The staff are welcoming and helpful. The range of meal is good and interesting. One of us was vegetarian and spoilt for choices. Lovely atmosphere in a beautiful old banking hall. Seemed to be good for couples and groups.
