   Went the just after Christmas to obtain some fish for my son and it was very busy but reasonably priced, clearly the staff cared for the animals they were selling and information they provided was useful. If you want to buy fish, be aware your tank must be set up, treated with appropiate water conditioner and established before adding any fish for at least a week.

   Hit or miss, recently picked up dog food. Pricing was wrong and the staff member was adamant I was wrong despite me literally showing them I wasn’t. Items should be removed if not sold at the advertised price until the following days trading but the staff member refused to acknowledge he was wrong

   I bought 2 fish 4 days ago and there dead bought another 2 fish today and 1 is now dead again so far nearly £40 gone on fish and not lasting a week I’ve tested the water everything checks out no issues whatsoever aquarium has sufficient oxygen and a filter suitable I believe it’s just a matter of time till the last fish goes to fishy heaven not saying there is but there could potentially be underlying health issues with the fish in pah won’t be buying anymore from there

   I felt the store was a bit untidy and there were a fair few empty spaces on shelves. Also couldn't find a lot of cat food, treats or accessories. I did though manage to find everything I wanted for my dog, plus a couple of extra things. Best Pets at Home I've been to so far is the one on the Isle of Wight.

   I must have popped in at a bad time as service was terrible. After only just moving to the area I needed to get food for my snake so tried here. After walking around the whole store a few times I could only find 1 member of staff who spent their time chatting away, which is nice they talk to customers but at least be aware of your surroundings and keep an eye out for customers in need. So I then approached the guy on the tills who responded with they didn't have enough staff and he was too busy to get anyone to help but I could just wait around. Again I get that there are moments in businesses that are a bit manic but the customer service was below satisfactory so unfortunately left without what I needed and found Jollyes which was a breath of fresh air compared to here and they went above and beyond to help. Will definitely not return back to pets at home through this experience.

   Do NOT use their vet service unless you want to waste your time, money and come out feeling more distressed than before. In all my years of owning animals, I have never met a more apathic and unqualified team of vets in my entire life. They did not communicate appropriately, they didn't even get to the root cause of the issue with my animal despite tests and consultations and medications and check ups etc. My animal is suffering from a very serious illness that I only know now because I went elsewhere. This vet service has not only convinced me into paying tests for issues that my animal hadn't even been suffering from but they also ignored my voiced concerns on the behaviours my pet was displaying. I was told not to take their word for things (yet it is your job?) and I was overcharged on services unlike other vet areas. They did not give me adequate advice, no guidance, no reassurance or certainty upon what I was facing. Nothing for a large fee. Then upon visiting another vet I find out more about the issues than I ever got from pets at home at a surprisingly less fee. I cried in shock at how much better the other service was and even my animal seemed more relaxed. As a shop? Fine I guess. As a vet service? Never again. The vet reception team are either super polite or super rude, but the vet staff in question are a different calibre of clueless and traumatising.

   A really disappointing visit and a disappointed child. We only went there because they were open until 6pm & it was where I bought the fish tank My son was super excited about getting his first pet. Having queued up for a couple of minutes we were told that they didn’t have enough staff to serve us & we would have to come back tomorrow… would they be quiet enough to serve me then? Do I need to make an appointment? Who knows? Anyway, there is plenty of really good independent pet shops & specialists where service is of greater importance. Why would I go back to Pets at Home?
