I had received a Gucci necklace as a gift 3 years ago, for my 18th birthday, that was bought from this branch. Unfortunately, the clasp has broke and I have since taken it back to be sent off for repairs. Upon first entering the store, straight away the staff were very cold and not friendly/welcoming. We felt like we was being looked down on and the staff gave off the attitude as if they owned all of the jewellery. The girl who took care of my situation however, was nicer and offered me a drink after being seated. After looking at my necklace, I was told I wouldn’t get a price until they had sent my necklace off, or if it would have to be sent to Gucci and get a price from them (if it was something they couldn’t repair). When she had entered all the info into her system, she was given a repair price then and there, which was £47. I was told I could pay upfront, or I could pay 10% deposit and the rest upon collection. I chose to pay 10%. However, today I received a phone call from the branch stating that I would have to pay £78 for a repair, or £130 for a new chain (Not stating that they have had to send it to Gucci)! As you can imagine, this has annoyed me, as I was told a much cheaper price in store and now feel like I’m being ripped off! I have asked for the necklace back and will be taking it elsewhere. I will no longer shop at this store due to the terrible customer service. I visited another jewellery store in lakeside the same day, and their customer service was amazing! Ernest Jones Lakeside, do better!

My experience here has not been great considering I am recently engaged and I wish my partner never bought the rings from here. The staff told him that he had 30 days to return / exchange the ring if there was any issues. We had both returned as I wasn’t happy with a engagement and band set and the diamond placements. Because I had worn the engagement for a matter of a hour or two once engaged, to have a feel for it, decide if I like it (the usual things you consider once being handed a ring - then it’s been in its box since) that I couldn’t exchange the ring anymore because it’s been worn. I was told in a patronising way “the ring must be unworn” …. How do they expect engagement rings to not be worn? They made me feel so awful I ended up crying in the store. They offered to order in a few new sets of my size to compare them and change the wedding band if need be. They kept asking what the issue was when I told them 100 times. They made me feel not understood when I’m the one not happy and wanted everything to be perfect. A lady phoned me to say the new sets have arrived in store and again, patronising way said “this is to change the wedding band only”. So I said to my partner to tell them we aren’t going to bother coming back. I don’t want to change my engagement ring. My issue with them is more they keep harping on the fact I can’t exchange the engagement ring from the set. I don’t want to change it, but if I had to, they’re saying I can’t because I’ve tried it on, which doesn’t exactly make me feel good or leave us with any positive outcome if I’m not happy? I wanted to just make sure everything looked perfect and if it didn’t because of the engagement ring, they should change it as we are within 30 days. They even tried fobbing us off saying it can be an eternity ring. If I wanted an eternity ring we’d buy one. My feelings just weren’t considered when we had stuck to the return/exchange rules given. They just made me feel really worthless. I wouldn’t recommend getting jewellery here, especially for an engagement.
