We stayed at the Malthouse for the August bank holiday weekend. It was a surprise celebration for my partner's 70th, with family travelling form Yorkshire, London and Southampton, we also had family that lived locally joining us for a barbecue. The house was stunning and all the rooms were beautiful, furnished to a high standard. Deborah was a fabulous host and popped round on the first evening to check on us. The kitchen is kitted out really well, with every utensil and pan you could need, plus ample crockery and glassware. The location is chocolate box perfect, quintessentially English, with the added benefit of a cricket filed just below and a beautiful pub next door (also a small supermarket a minute up the road for forgotten items). Finally, the position is a short drive from Bath and within easy reach of Wookey Hole, Cheddar and Longleat.

My family and I stayed at the Malthouse for a long weekend. It's a fantastic place with an attentive and amiable host. The building has a real charm and the garden is beautiful. It's located in a lovely village with two great pubs a literal stone's throw away. I wholeheartedly recommend staying here if you're thinking about it - the host answered all our questions and accommodated us wonderfully.

Our family gathered at the Malthouse for Christmas 2024. We had the most wonderful time. The house is so cosy, warm and comfortable and had been thoughtfully decorated for Christmas. We enjoyed sharing many meals around the big dining table. The kitchen is very well stocked with lots of pots and pans. And the two large living areas are great - ideal for playing games and sitting round the cosy log fire. All the bedrooms are very good sizes and very comfortable. The downstairs bedroom with en-suite shower room was ideal for my elderly mother who struggles with mobility. She was so happy to be able to join in with all her family around her. The house and village are steeped in history and we had many good long walks on the footpaths around the village. Cannot fail to mention the inn - The George - which was literally on tap, very friendly and serves fantastic beer and food. There is a really well stocked Co-op in the village and Flourish Food farm shop that was brilliant for meat, cheese, deli, veggies and lots of lovely bits and pieces There are stunning views from the house down to the village church. It also has a beautiful garden. I would love to come back in the summer months when we could see the garden in all its beauty and explore this beautiful part of the world more. Thank you also to Deborah who has been so helpful and friendly all year in helping me arrange our stay. She was there to greet us and show us around the house. All of us would highly recommend this wonderful house. We were sad to leave.

We stayed at this lovely house at the beginning of September for a week just before our wedding in Bath. The house is beautiful and was a wonderful place for our family to gather. We enjoyed touring the area (very easy to access Bath, other local attractions and great nearby pubs - especially The George right next door!). We also relaxed in the charming garden, with many badminton & ping pong challenges, and were able to have our large group linger outside over dinner in the evenings. The interior of the house is beautifully decorated with great space for a large group to gather or find quiet spots on their own. Finally, Deborah was a very attentive host who responded to every question quickly. We highly recommend this lovely home!

Amazing house, full of character in a great location for walks and to visit the city of Bath, not to mention the historic pub, The George Inn is right next door. The house is perfect for a large get together of family or friends! It sleeps 14 comfortably though the top floor bedroom is best suited to a family group as it comprises two sleeping areas with an interconnecting door. It’s warm, homely, spacious and has a well equipped kitchen with a large table for communal dining and two good size sitting areas, one with TV. It also has a fabulous garden complete with fire pit and barbecue for an evening alfresco. The lovely George Pub is conveniently right next door, farm shops and a Co-op nearby and beautiful walks on the doorstep. What more could you want?

Absolutely amazing house with so much history and warmth. Each room has it's own character and feel and the beds are so comfy. There's everything you would need in close proximity, including two amazing pubs in the village, a local farm shop down the road and a co-op up the street. There are also some incredible walks near by which are great for dogs as well as the very conveniently located village green for those not so keen on long rambles! Will definitely be back!
