Absolutely terrible service came here to find a whiteboard walked around the shop for 10 minutes to find absolutely nobody on the short floor bare mind out of my two-year-old and nine-year-old trying to find some help. I then had to go right to the front of the queue as there were three people serving to ask and the lady said well sorry there’s nobody that can help me and I said well I would like to know where these items are and she just told me they’re near the stairs by the bottom which I just thought was completely unhelpful. I’m gonna take my business somewhere else. I think it’s ridiculous that you don’t have anybody to support in purchasing, but you have tools open to actually take my money.

For such a sizeable store, it doesn’t have as many options as you’d expect. And the staff, while nice, weren’t that knowledgeable. Perhaps I’m comparing it to the Hobby Lobby’s of the USA, but it just felt like it was missing a bit of fun and didn’t have quite enough of anything else. The second floor was half warehouse, like they didn’t know what to do with all the space. Pricing wise, it felt accessible, indeed 4 A4sized bits of felt for £2 is a great deal. But it felt more like a resource for kids. The staff were friendly, but one told us “I don’t know anything about yarn”, when it was nearly 10% of the shop. It’s fine if you’re local and need some inspiration, but not worth a trip if you live any further than 10 minutes away.

Safe to say I will never return here again, or any other hobbycraft for that matter. I have frequented this store many times in the past so know what’s where, and on my pervious and last ever trip I was left feeling humiliated, appalled and discriminated against. I was in a rush as I had family coming round so I picked up what I needed. And then thought to myself I’ll have one last look to see if anything else caught my eye. Which was when I realised I was being literally chased by a woman who must have been extremely stressed by my mere presence as she was redder than a baboons bottom. I wasn’t acting shifty, nor was I doing anything wrong, I was merely walking slightly faster than others as I was in a rush. But this woman was literally sprinting after me, making sure she was where I’d be before me, and then rather blatantly standing and staring at my every move making me feel extremely uncomfortable, and all for no apparent reason what so ever. I get it if I looked like an addict who had filthy dirty hands, wide eyed acting out of the norm, with tattered clothes, or stank of alcohol or looking like I was out on the thieve. But I did not. The only reason I can think of for her doing such ludicrous things was my attire. Clearly just because of the way I was dressed in casual weekend clothing meant there was no possible way in her mind that I was an avid hobbyist. I must have been and looked like a common criminal to her. I completely understand they have a job to do and crime is abundant these days. But to do what she did, in the blatant way she did it, and with no real reason for doing so was very belittling and condescending. I didn’t have handfuls of the same multiple high value items and I highly doubt thieves have much resale options for the rather random and nondescript items I had in my hand. So I threw the items down on a shelf no where near to their original place and walked out, feeling extremely humiliated and sickened by the way I had been treated in the 5 minutes I was in this store. Yes do your job and deter crime, but don’t discriminate, humiliate or act in a condescending manner towards people who are merely doing some shopping and are in a rush. I will never return to this store, I shall take my money else where, and I will tell others about my horrible experience I endured while being here. I would rather give no stars but I have to give at least one so here we are. Oh and don’t ever visit this store in casual slightly baggy clothing either because you will be chased around by a glowing red faced woman, for no real reason other than to make you feel like you’re doing something wrong, and then stared at in the strangest manor possible.

I have had a 1-on-1 sewing session with Linda, and she was so knowledgeable with her craft. She even accommodated me when I had an emergency at home. They were very helpful.

Slightly disappointed with this branch of Hobbycraft. Even though this is bigger than the Crayford branch, it wasn't as good. Was expecting more of a selection of model kits but it had less than Crayford. Also, had to go to the tills to get a member of staff despite repeated rings on the buzzer to call for someone to cut some material. Car parking is good. Maybe I went on an ' off ' day.

We find this store very handy to shop what you need for your tailoring and dressmaking activities. I wish there was a better ways of measuring and wrappings for ribbons and buttons. Staff were amazingly helpful. Thank you!

A very good place where my wife disappears and I walk round looking at stuff. The staff are super lovely. They do classes if you are into crafting etc which is well worth joining There is a lot of stuff here, sewing, crafting, art and if you want to learn any of these there are classes too Very friendly staff Also note if you have a blue light card, hobby craft gives some discount they don’t advertise this as much as you would think but if you are a blue light card holder like my wife use it
