Went for Sunday lunch as in the past we had enjoyed our food , don’t know if the chef or owners have changed but how disappointing. The Sunday lunch was very small , the meat had been reheated (seen by our daughter walking past the kitchen ) which turned it into leather . The batters were terrible and the vegetables were solid . The only good thing was the staff were friendly . Will not be going back

Lovely little country pub with a warm atmosphere and friendly staff. Me and my husband came here for a Sunday lunch recently and it was beautiful the meats seem top quality and roast potato's were divine! Will be back 100%.

was a little hesitant to book the accommodation after reading another recent review about noise and behaviour from other guests, but assumed it was an isolated incident. Sadly, that wasn’t the case. We stayed Friday and Saturday while attending a nearby event. Friday night was fine overall, though the room wasn’t thoroughly cleaned – the carpet was grubby and didnt seem hoovered, the bedding had hairs and stains on and there was cobwebs all over the ceilings. For a place to sleep it was just decent enough. Saturday night was a negative experience. The rooms next to us sounded like they were hosting a party. Although I think the rooms are only meant for two guests, it sounded like many more people were in their room. There was shouting with aggressive conversations on who was going to beat who up, music blasting and constant slamming of doors. Given the pub downstairs, we expected a bit of noise, but it was actually fine, the real problem was the neighbours. At one point, I genuinely considered whether staying in my car might be a more peaceful nights sleep. We managed to drown out some of the noise with the room fan on full power, and thankfully it quietened down by midnight. The pub itself seemed cosy and the staff seemed friendly but we didn’t try the food so I can’t comment on that. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend the overnight accommodation. With no staff in the building to contact after the pub closes, guests are left with no support if issues arise. For safety and peace of mind, it would make a difference to have a receptionist or security present. I’d also recommend that they refresh the rooms – the decor, carpets and bedding all feel tired, and the cleaning needs to be more thorough. At the £100 a night we paid, it doesn’t feel up to standard

Really not how we remember this pub. It still has a lot of charm but the constant hum of the kitchen extractor making sitting in the very nice garden not pleasant at all. Also a shame you are penned in.. very pleasant staff and a nice warm welcome.... Prices are fine... Clearly on the day we went they had major problems in the kitchen, and hour and a half for the food and mine arrived 20 minutes before my friends... Food was ok for the price.. would we go back no... Such a shame....

Told to find a seat, sit down and wait for menus. No one came to take order. Ordered drinks from the bar and pick up menus. No one came to take order. Drank drinks and paid, still no one came after 30 mins. No apology or that they were too busy or short staffed etc which we would have understood or gone elsewhere - it happens. Nothing. Very poor service, disappointing as usually very good - shame. Did over hear it was the bar persons last day, probably why she ignored us.

This is an excellent pub. We searched for somewhere to eat after a visit to Brands Hatch and decided to give it a go based on reviews. It didn’t disappoint. Generous portions of home-cooked fresh food from a diverse menu. We had the haloumi wrap and turkey, stuffing and cranberry sandwich. All good, washed down with a good selection of beers. Recommended - we will visit again.

Probably the best meal any of us had eaten out, in as long as we could remember. Good atmosphere, lovely surrounding area and plenty of options to eat.

We moved in up the road and finally got a chance to visit on mother's Day. Despite how busy the restaurant was, the service was amazing and so was the food! Check out the pic of dessert! Was to die for. We had mixed she's from 9-82yrs and all raved about it. We loved it so much we've booked again for Easter Sunday!
