just wanted to share how grateful I am for the sessions I had with your PT Tommy. I came to him with an L5 disc bulge, and I was really worried about needing surgery. But after just a few sessions, he created a plan that focused on strengthening my core, glutes, and back to avoid injury and get me back on track. I went to the physio after following his advice, and they confirmed that the plan was exactly what I needed. Even the doctor told me I wouldn’t need surgery as long as I kept doing what Tommy had taught me. I can’t thank him enough for helping me feel confident in my recovery and for putting together a program that made such a huge difference in my life. Not only that, but I've also gained so much more confidence in the gym now. I feel way more comfortable and empowered. I feel stronger, more stable, and so much more at ease knowing I can manage my injury without surgery. Honestly, I can’t recommend Tommy enough if you’re dealing with any kind of injury or just want to get stronger in a safe way.

I was quite surprised to see so many negative reviews for such a great gym. The reception is always warm and smiling. The gym is a bit dated but the equipments are all working and many new ones are also been added recently. The pool is decent and sauna is great. I don’t know what people have to complain about. I would give it a 10/10

Gym membership was my reward when I retired and what a reward it has proved to be! I attend classes as I’m not as self-motivated as others. By booking a class I commit to going and that really motivates me. My key classes are Dancefit, Wellbeing Workout, Aqua and Pilates. My main reason for choosing a class is the instructor. Nancy Priston, the dance instructor, is just the most energetic, warm and joyful teacher. It is the only class in which I smile throughout. The dancing, the singing, the mistakes and the laughter are so much fun. I leave the.class exhausted but so high. All levels are accepted and encouraged, so real, young dancers mix with the likes of me - the enthusiastic but not very good dancer- and we all love it. She really is exceptional. I’d also praise Becky Q for getting me onto the gym floor with her Well-being Workouts; Becky, Maggie, Sara and Carl for Aqua; Lisa V for stopping me being afraid of Pilates.

I have been a member of Nuffield Surbiton for more than 2 decades! It’s my first de-stress, fitness and social stop! Just love the club - I just can’t bear to simply call it a gym. It’s so much more. Truly. And it’s the people there who make it so amazing- there are so many permanent personalities there who make such a difference with their energy enthusiasm and professionalism - Lisa Venter, Paul Quick, Collette, Dr Nancy, Lyn, Caroline, Lisette, Rex, Carl, Kelly and superstar Katherine! Love and thrive on their classes to keep my health and well being going. The reception staff are fantastic and always so welcoming and helpful Kelly and Ana particularly stand out. The gym equipment, the various classrooms, the pool and canteen are also so very good. Alastair Agrenti as the current General Manager is so very engaging and taking on board comments for improvements. A Special thanks to Lisa Venter too for taking on board comments about gym classes and instructors and managing the gym timetable and classes and events so very smoothly. I honestly can say that Surbiton Nuffield is such an important part of my life that I had decided not to move away from Surbiton so as not miss the club! It’s a wonderful institution and I recommend it highly. Babul

I’ve been a member since just before Covid and this place kickstarted my love of fitness, to the extent that I’ve now become a qualified instructor myself. I started off with Nancy’s classes and found her so professional- greeting every new participant and learning their name so that you always felt welcomed. I loved her fun approach and inclusivity. Sadly work means I can only do her classes in the school holidays now, but when I do, I leave pump and dance fit on a Thursday morning with a well-needed injection of joy!

I have been member for almost 3 years, this is very poor gym I’ve ever been to. The classes always seem to be overbooked and the membership fees are too high, the gym equipment per number of the clients have no balance, poorly maintained. The pool is always full and jacuzzi is always broken. Very disappointed!!

My partner has been a member for over 5 years, know the place well. We joined on a friends and family discount. Last year in the summer my membership was cancelled randomly - we called up whilst at a different branch and they stated I had cancelled, when I have my vulnerable daughter on my account whom I like to take swimming etc. They realised I had not suspended/deactivated my account. THEY DEACTIVATED MY ACCOUNT WITHOUT CONSENT. At £105 a month it is NOT worth it. Before having my daughter I was with David Lloyd Clubs & I paid £20/£30 more! The spa facilities are terrible, you have to ring up to make sure they are open - whereas when I joined DL they are 100x better than any Nuffield I have been to. If you would like to join a good class gym, join David Lloyds, much more reliable and you can ensure you are paying a fitting price for your membership!

This is not a family club at all! I joined 10 years ago for the pure reason that children under a certain age can use the creche and swimming lessons without being members. They have now introduced a £13.50 charge per child of any age so they can pay to go to the creche or pay for swimming lessons! There is NOTHING for younger ones to do included in this! Particularly for under 5s! The soft play area is dirty and isn’t a soft play at all! It’s a corner of a room full of old donated toys with a broken TV. There aren’t any family changing facilities so if you have a boy over 7, you have to send them to the opposite side of the building, past a massive emergency exit which is often open to the car park and into a changing room - where there aren’t even any doors for privacy on the showers. This surely is a massive safeguarding concern which hasn’t been addressed! We were paying over £400 a month as a family when we added together 2 x gym memberships, swimming lessons, creche, food/drinks at the cafe as a family and they still want more on top. This is not what I originally signed up for and they have changed the terms of the contract… we are now in the process of moving over to Coletts - a real family club! Nuffield Management simply don’t care- so much so, they chose to shut the kids pool on New Years Day saying it was no kids for swimming that day and with no reason why! Turning away family after family - that clearly shows their priorities! I emailed to ask why and no one even bothered to respond!

Avoid like the plague! Joined with a tricky promotion of an apparent free month and got disappointed on a monthly basis. I was valuing the location and good training space as I need to train for my work. Customer care doesn't exist, machines break and stay so sometimes up to a month, assessments seem to be something they'd rather avoid and classes are aimed at beginners only and lack creativity. They seem to hire cheap staff that are there mainly to hang out with their friends, not too interested in attending costumers, specially male ones. They don't care about contracts, they'll expect a month notice to cancel even when it's expired (zero reminders about it too of course) , contacting them is like talking to a wall and unless you actually go there you won't find out about any changes on opening times which are already very reduced- they say they close at 10, when they actually close at 9.30 but start vacuuming on your face from 9 or before. Swimming times for kids are also poorly calculated, unless doing classes the space is very reduced. Staff is unhappy there too. Avoid avoid avoid
