Super impressed today, we saw a younger rider attempting a trick that didn’t go so well, I’ve never seen someone move so fast: the cable operator literally flew into the lake to check on the boy, who was fine. Thanks to the team for keeping us safe
So good. I have never cable boarded before but wanted to give it a try. Turned up today and was very impressed with how well set up it is. But the best thing by far is the team. All of them are so friendly and helpful. The two cable operators gave me so much advice and help, they made my day. See you again soon.
I waterski here weekly. John and Ali are very experienced coaches and have improved my slalom results greatly. The lake is beautiful, easy to access with plenty of parking. It is a nice break from the city as the lake is surrounded by trees. The boat is always clean and maintained and the dock and equipment organised and always on time.
I’ve been coming to Thorpe Lakes since 2011 and still love it! I’ve tried kneeboarding, wakeboarding and water skiing behind boats, on the beginner “System 2” cable and also on the main cable. The staff over the years have all been brilliant and the current staff are no exception. Thorpe is a fun place to ride wakeboards and skis and has the most welcoming vibe out of any wake park I’ve visited, I’ve made friends for life here. The features (kickers and sliders) are on the beginner-intermediate end of the spectrum but pro riders are still able to have a great time and also feel challenged. The facilities are fairly basic or “rough and ready” but for me that’s not a problem at all. The aqua park is a fun time, the staff may seem young but they’re highly trained and I’m always impressed with how they look out for everyone’s safety. All in all, I’d give this place a 9/10.
Absolutely fantastic experience of learning to water ski here. I've had two teachers and they are both excellent - giving plenty of on land instructions and then a really good mixture of positive encouragement and constructive feedback. Both going the extra mile and really taking care of me. I highly recommend.
Such a great place to have fun! We were 5 x mid thirties friends and seeking a mini thrill and this 'Total wipeout' aquasports was the perfect activity! We couldn't stop laughing from the moment we jumped in. Drank lots of lake water which was grotty but this it to be expected and we were all fine after. Highly recommend!
Love this place. Great vibes, helpful instructors, good variety of kickers, easy to get to. Discovered it about a year ago and have been coming back regularly ever since - always enjoy an afternoon spent wakeboarding here.
