Yesterday, I bought chow mein from here and I still haven’t been able to digest it properly. The staff — both the lady and the man — were unresponsive and unhelpful. Absolutely ridiculous. On top of that, they have changed several items on the menu after their holiday, and not for the better. Better to avoid this restaurant.
Food is amazing I love it . Food is always ready in fast time and delivered under 15-20 minutes
Adore the Amethyst, my family (Ball) have been eating from here for around 20yrs and have never once had a bad experience with the food or the staff and anyone saying anything bad about the lady who takes the orders on the phone just don't know her! She's a lovely lady and always chats away to us if we go in to pick up, she is not arrogant or nasty unless the person ordering is arrogant or nasty to her, in which case she has every right to give you the same attitude back. Anyone going on about her clearly doesn't know her. My favourite foods from the Amethyst are the chicken curry, chicken in black bean sauce and chicken fried rice, always great portion sizes for the money and they will even just do plain steak and fried rice for my little brother who is an extremely picky eater. They were the first Chinese in the area to offer vegetarian and some Thai dishes at the time and overall I have nothing but good things to say about a very hard working very pleasant team and especially about the lady on the counter.

Fantastic food as always when we visit, still trying my best to get there recipe for their honey chilli chicken so that I can make for the wife in Scotland instead of having to wait till shes back in Northern Ireland visiting relatives to be able to eat it, as she says there isn't one Chinese that comes close to the amethysts recipe. Lol
Like with most chineses the food is hit and miss ! There chow meins are really good but leave u very thirsty I find the curry to hot for my liking and one thing that is off putting is the Chinese woman that answers the phone is very abrupt !

Found I couldn't get through recently. Went down and it says they're closed until August 9th. Just putting this review here to help anyone else who thinks they're not answering I'll get myself a curry then
Got the wee special box with (a poor poor) sausage, 2 ribs (well one rib, one fat) and a decent chicken ball on curry chips for £5. Cannot bring myself to order a full meal from here and minds now made up. Can I get a touch of sweet and sour sauce on my curry chip? (new customer and it's what I like) HELL NO! not even a little... busy busy place at weekends but I'm happy to travel back to the East. Good luck to it but I'll not be back.
