Three of us visited a week ago. My wife and i had the Turkey and *Ham*. Lovely food but there is no actual ham on the plate. Its flavoured in the Turkey. I had to ask, hence how i found out. To be charging £28 for this meal quite frankly is taking the mick. At least be honest when describing whats on the menu.
Three of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal tonight at Shed Bistro! Our waitress, Vhairi, was wonderful, very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and the wine. We had venison, rump steak and scallops, all cooked to perfection. We're looking forward to coming back again and wish Vhairi all the best on her travels.
The restaurant was highly recommended to me by The Moxy Hotel, they were not wrong, the food and service was outstanding. But my visit tonight was overshadowed by an obnixious customer, who was extremely rude, but the professionalism and calmness, especially from Jasmine was exemplary, the situation was so well managed; this needs to be recognised and acknowledged by the management as to what a great team you have.
Maybe I’m getting old. Ate here peak time Friday night- about a quarter full. You cannot fault the food. Beautiful scallops with maybe the tastiest chicken dish ever, rounded off with probably most of the kitchen sticky toffee pudding- the portion was huge but welcomed. As I said maybe I’m getting old- I wondered if the economics were wrong when the service and food was faultless. If a dish was 10% cheaper would the footfall increase 25-30% ? Only a question. The team at Shed continue to deliver on the Ormeau Road- it’s years since I sat in one of their high bar stools and had a lovely tea- my biggest cost then was a parking ticket city bound ……But I am going back !
Booked for the Early Dinner Meal and left at 9pm - a sign we had such a good time. Meal choices are limited but that’s fine when they are of such quality. Ultimate steak sandwich and burgers (with chunky chips) were winners. The four of us all enjoyed the 3 courses, wine and the service.
Fantastic food, drink and service. We had young children with us and they also lapped the food up. Staff were really attentive and kept them entertained.
I live in New York City and have been coming to Belfast for several years. After eating here tonight, I don't know why the Shed Bistro is not listed among the best restaurants in all of the Belfast tourist guides. This place was simply outstanding. Great wine list. Superb food. Extremely professional and hospitable staff. Perfection. One of the best meals I've ever have in the nearly 7 or so years I've been coming to Belfast. If you're an American traveling to Belfast, do not leave the city without eating here!
I was there last Friday night with my two friends and we had a wonderful time. The Romanian waiter (sorry I forgot to ask your name!) looked very well after us and made our night a really fun one. The food was delicious and so was the mocktail they especially made for me. Thank you so much, we'll be back!
