   Trish and colleagues provided a beautiful space for our wedding luncheon. There were 24 of us and everything arrived at the same time, hot and cooked to perfection.    A great all round restaurant. We like to go somewhere that you are guaranteed great quality food with great service at a very reasonable price. This gem has been hidden since 1982. A family owned bar and bistro housed in a beautifully restored railway station. They serve a mix of retro comfort classics and med inspired dishes with locally sourced ingredients Once seated you are brought water and freshly baked bread to nibble on whilst you peruse the menu. For lunch,it's two courses £26 or three courses £32. We started with a couple of very nice cocktails. Pineapple & coconut mojito £8.95 Cherry,amaretto sour £9.95 For starters we chose Crab,apple & salmon tian and Sun blush tomato & brie arancini. Main choices of Slow braised blade of beef and the other Roast fillet of cod.Both cooked to perfection. Desserts were Perkins tiramisu and Sticky toffee pudding it is then. To finish, a couple of Irish coffees. With consistently excellent food and service, there's no surprise the whole restaurant was full on a midweek lunchtime. They also do themed evenings which are really good value with excellent menus where booking is essential

   Cannot fault our visit. The food was delicious and served so quickly. Lovely outdoor seating to enjoy a drink before. Nice quiet location and really friendly team. The interior has been well designed and retains its train station attire. The team also made an extra effort because it was my birthday - thank you everyone! We will be back.

   Me and my boyfriend stayed here in the great oak shepherds hut last week, and cannot stop talking about how great it was. Our dinner was delicious and the service which came with it was fab. As well as the dinner, the fry up the following morning was perfect. We enjoyed our time so much we will be back soon hopefully. Thank you for making our weekend so special.

   Visited Perkins for the first time last Saturday evening. Oh my goodness, what a find! I like good food and I would go as far as to say that it's the best food I've ever tasted. We all had something different from the menu and every dish across every course was blummin' lovely. I have never tasted gravy like Perkins gravy. At £38 for 3 courses it was a bargain and I can't wait to go again. The staff were so friendly and attentive, really felt like a valued customer. Just wish it wasn't dark when we came out, it's in beautiful grounds and would have liked to have had a look at the accommodation available too. Thank you Perkins, keep doing what you are doing, its perfect.

   My Son and Daughter in Law gave both my wife and I a voucher for Christmas back in 2020. However due to lockdown we didn’t manage to book to visit this establishment. The time has now come and we eventually visited and had a tremendous experience at Perkins. The initial reception and customer service was excellent. The food was first class and so enjoyable. I have been fortunate to dine at other restaurants in the area but, Perkins are an extremely hard act to follow….I would most certainly recommend this place for that “special place” to book and go to.

   Had a brilliant stay here in The Great Oak hut. With an amazing 3 course meal and house bottle of wine. The food was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. The stay in the hut was very cosy and warm. We had a relaxing bath and chilled for the rest of the evening after our dinner. Got up the following morning to go for our traditional English breakfast which was all top quality meats along with plenty of coffee and orange juice. Perfect place for a relaxing get away weekend. Trish the Manager there was so friendly and helpful and made our stay incredible and couldn’t do enough for us. Thank you Trish for your warming welcome. Highly recommend to everyone. A***
