   First time visiting Durham Ox after hearing so many good reviews and it didn't disappoint we had the turkey off the festive menu which was £19.95 overall the food was delicious it was hot, fresh, and plenty of it I definitely recommend this place.

   We had another wonderful meal at The Durham Ox; from the welcoming staff to the fabulous food and accompanying wine, I cannot fault a single thing. The staff always ensure you are happy, catered to and completely satisfied with their experience. Photos are my monkfish starter which was superb and chicken supreme which was out of this world. We love the Durham Ox and the whole family of staff.

   Our stay at the Durham Ox - the Pool Villa September 21 to 25 September 2025. Absolutely wonderful stay for four nights, the staff could not do enough for you, all very knowledgeable (shout out to Josh who was always polite and helpful). In our opinion, all the staff went above and beyond. The food was out of this world and the accommodation was beautiful, comfy and no need to leave as it had everything you would need. We were lucky enough to enjoy the outdoor pool/hottub which was cleaned every day by Steve who was a pleasure to speak to. We shall be returning in the near future and thank you Durham Ox for the wonderful 5 star stay.

   What a hidden little gem and so near to home! The whole experience was amazing. The staff were very pleasant, cheerful and informative. As for the food, WOW! The presentation and the food wouldn't look out of place in a Michelin restaurant, it was that good! Will definitely be going back!!

   We went for Mexican tapas on a Thursday night and it was fantastic. The food is great, plenty of choice for vegetarians too. They do a different theme each month eveet Thursday night. I've also been for Indian tapas and I'd highly recommend it. Staff are really friendly too.

   Been here once and impressived by the food and customer service, very welcomed anf friendly staffs. I ordered pork belly Sunday roast and have got a full plate as the photo, I love gravy and the gravy here is so good. Apart from the pork skin was very tough and unchewable, everything else was perfect. Highly recommended.

   If you want the best roast dinner that you've ever had in your life, then visit the Durham Ox - It is guaranteed to blow you away and put a smile on your face. I have never tasted food like it - I couldn't fault a single thing. I highly recommend their deep fried ice cream dessert too - So much fun and absolutely delicious. This was my first visit and it will absolutely not be the last! Thank you for making mine and my friends Sunday.

   We have been here twice whilst staying in the area. First time we had the Tapas which we loved and was very tasty. Then we went for Sunday lunch which was also nice but for whatever reason we didn't feel was the best we have had. We chose lamb and my partner thought we had been given beef, I had to agree not very tasty. The vegetables were nice and we paid extra for cauliflower cheese which was really nice. It is a very popular pub so very busy and although bought dessert menu after over 20 minutes of waiting we had to get the attention of staff to take our order. The dessert was actually very nice. Overall we didn't feel like we had value for money but may try again if in the area.
