We had a wonderful evening at the Calcutta Club. The ostrich starter was the perfect size and melted in the mouth, the lamb special just fell of the bone. Both looked like small portions but filled beautifully with little space left for desert. The staff were wonderful and the the atmosphere just brilliant.
There’s much to like about Calcutta Club. Service is friendly and top notch. Great looking menu. I’m at a conference in Nottingham and this looked great I chose mango lassi, lamb chops, Kashmiri lamb (special) and laccha paratha. The food was good and missed a touch of seasoning all round. Nice flavours but didn’t have the depth that I find at top notch Indians
Diwali Banquet- fantastic experience. Food and atmosphere were amazing. Special thanks to waiting staff Sonia who was fantastic, very personable and attentive.
We come once or twice a year with friends and we have never been disappointed. The food is really tasty, well cooked with good size portions. The staff is always friendly and attentive. This time I had king prawns puri for starter, perfectly cooked prawns, and tandoori chicken breast. Really well cooked, once again, and good size portion. We all had different mains, and we all loved them.
An absolutely fantastic restaurant. The staff are amazing. The food is superb and the venue is beautiful. Hospitality is attentive and the food served in a timely manner with no rush but enough time to relax and enjoy. Top of the bill is the service. Friendly, engaging, intelligent and know exactly how to do their job. Very good. The food is fresh and superb. Very well cooked monkfish and amazingly tasty gravy. Fresh tandoori prawns were the best for a long time. So much on the menu we could have chosen was the hardest bit of the evening. Come and enjoy a wonderful night for either a group or a couple. It works just as well for everyone.
Very nice experience, the tablecloths made it special. Service was decent although it was hard to hear the waitress as the restaurant is very loud (may have been specific to the day of our visit). Food was very nice apart from a few confusing bits, namely the salad being a row of separate chopped salad ingredients. The sundries that came with the popadoms tasted amazing. Overall a good time and decent value.
Wow! Our dining experience was so lovely at Calcutta Club. We were greeted swiftly and shown to our table where the waitress explained the specials and asked if we had any allergies. The food was definitely the highlight though! It was clear that all of the ingredients were fresh and of good quaintly, the lamb just melted apart and it was to die for, the fish selection starter (see photo) was so delicious! The general manager spoke to us at the end and was super friendly and asked how our meal was. You have to visit here!!!
Our meal was absolutely perfect. Beautiful flavours and generous portions. The staff were very attentative and great at their jobs. Will definately be back.
A lovely experience from start to end! The service was wonderful with the waitress remembering who ordered each item and giving us recommendations. She also ensured we were topped up with drinks throughout. The food was delicious and we took full advantage of the early-bird offer. A genuinely lovely restaurant with delicious food!
The food is served quickly and is very delicious, portions are big. I am very delighted by the service. I was dining by myself and a few times different staff members have checked on me whether all was OK and whether I needed anything. I would highly recommend the resataurant.
