    I visited this shop with my mother to purchase outfits that matched a specific colour theme. One of the outfits I was considering cost £135, and I intended to purchase two in total. When I asked for a small size, the dress presented looked more like a large. I inquired about trying it on, but was told there were no fitting rooms available. I then asked about the refund policy in case it didn’t fit, and was told it was exchange only. This posed an issue, as if the “small” size was already too large, there would be no smaller option to exchange it for — effectively leaving me stuck with something that doesn’t fit. I was then told I could try the dress on over my clothes in the open store space, which felt uncomfortable and unprofessional. Once I tried it on, my mother and I immediately noticed several faults with the dress: damaged sequins and hanging threads all over. When I pointed this out to the owner, he initially denied the issues, despite them being very visible, and then said that "all outfits are like that — it's fashion." While removing the dress (it was a heavy dress and difficult to take off), I began to feel physically restricted and uncomfortable. Not one staff member came to assist, even as I struggled in full view. Eventually, the owner told a female worker to help, but she simply stood chatting with another person and did nothing. My mother ultimately helped me remove the dress. After handing the dress back and walking toward the front of the store, the staff asked if I wanted them to pack two outfits for purchase. I politely declined and walked out. To my shock, as we were leaving, the owner and the staff began shouting at my mother, expressing that they were "offended" we didn't like the clothing, and making inappropriate comments, including remarks that we should not have entered the shop. Beyond the poor customer service and attitude, the store also raises serious concerns regarding health and safety. Clothing was stored in plastic and laid out on the floor, stacked on top of eachother and there are no facilities to properly try anything on. Be cautious if considering shopping here. UPDATE: Resonse to owner Thank you for your response. However, I’d like to clarify a few points you raised: Firstly, you mention you were present in the shop but that other members of staff were serving me. If that’s the case, then you were not in earshot when your colleague (the male owner) dismissed the visible faults in the dress by saying “it’s fashion.” To now deny that comment is disingenuous, especially when you admit you were not directly involved in the exchange. Secondly, I take issue with the suggestion that I was rude. At no point did I raise my voice or behave inappropriately. In fact, before leaving, I politely said “no thank you” to the only staff member who showed any courtesy — the same staff member you reference as being professional. If there is any doubt about my behaviour, I would encourage you to check your CCTV footage — assuming it’s in working order which i highly doubt. Regarding the condition of the clothing, no mention was made during the visit about import damage or handling issues. That explanation was only introduced after I highlighted the defects. For the record, the dress in question had loose threads and sequins, and while removing it, one of the damaged sequins actually scratched my forehead. This goes beyond aesthetics and raises legitimate concerns under trading standards. You mention that you advise your staff to “bite their tongue.” That’s commendable, but it should also extend to you and the male owner. Shouting at a customer’s mother as she’s walking out the store is not only unprofessional — it’s unacceptable. Customer service starts from the top. If anyone needs to re-evaluate their tone, conduct, and approach, it’s the management. My review speaks for itself. That concludes the matter for me.

    Unprofessional and extremely rude behaviour by staff members; they show no respect towards their customers. Highly unrecommended. Whether the owner was present or not customers should always be dealt with respect and myself and my family did not receive it there. There was a very rude man who demonstrated unprofessional behaviour and we walked out of his shop without buying anything.

    I have been a regular ordering from AJK and i must say for service is the best , the owner she was amazing i didnt know the sizes she measured the suits and made sure everything fits perfect , she went above and beyond and the quality of the suits are always top . i cant recommend them highly enough the best place were you get everything under one roof . no need to shop around u wont be dissapointed. thank you so much for the service which is very hard to get!

    AVOID. Some staff are nice but some are very rude. A man, i assume it was the owner in particular. None of the staff actually know the prices of the clothes. one member said £85..then another said £95 then then £110 and eventually £120.. for the same dress. The staff attitudes stank to the extent i left without buying. They will force you to buy something you don't want if you're not quick to give them your money. Very disappointed as I was really looking forward to buying a dress from here. Got much better service from smaller shops, including the shop next door.
