I stayed in a comfortable twin room with a great modern rain shower. Slept well, enjoyed tea and coffee in the room and a magnificent vegetarian cooked breakfast!

I feel as though this pub / hotel has seen better days… We stopped in for a quick drink as we were visiting in the area, and there were signs on the side that offered a variety of drinks (beers, cocktails etc). When we went in, the tables / chairs layout was quite odd, no clear dining or drinking area, it felt like it needed a bit of TLC and all furniture had just been randomly placed there. Whilst staff behind the bar were friendly, they seemed more interested in whatever sports were playing that day on the TV. There were no menu’s to be found for drinks, cocktails or food. The ‘outside’ area consisted of furniture piled up, like an afterthought. It certainly didn’t look like the images on here. We stayed for a quick drink and left. I notice that the website added on Google no longer works…

Gareth was friendly and helpful from as soon as I walked in the door, was really accommodating and nothing was too big a task. The bed was very comfy and the bath was just lovely in room 2. Very clean, and breakfast was done to my liking as I had asked. Absolute hidden gem will definetely recommend to others! Thank you!

Lovely overnight stay for nearby wedding. Friendly, polite hosts who did a delicious veggie breakfast to order, prepared a spotlessly clean and spacious room and nothing was too much trouble. Recommend!

Great atmosphere. Very good service. Beer was bottled but great. We did attend this venue on the day following the queen's funeral so stock was not as normal. The roasted duck was delicious and the portion adequate. The roasted Aubergine was over-priced and with far too much well-chard (burnt) spring onion which distracted from the whole meal. Overall an okay experience. The whole thing was however overpriced.

We visited the White Hart Inn while camping nearby, and sat at a table in the bar area as it’s dog friendly. The menu had recently been updated and we chose steak and chips and chicken with potato dauphinoise which were delicious. We then had a nice crumble with ice cream and sticky toffee pudding which came a little dry but was saved by the ice cream. Would definitely recommend!

Been here a few times now and I really enjoy the whole experience. The new Landlords have really nailed this place! I thought I would leave a review because I have stayed here for 3 weekends now. Each time I have been made such a fuss of and made to feel so welcome. I am very surprised about the negative reviews because it doesn't correspond to my experience there. I also speak about my whole party which was at least 4 people each time. The hospitality is absolutely top draw. First of all the food is absolutely spectacular. Such a lovely menu and you always walk away very satisfied. The Roast Dinner is a highlight on a Sunday. I really enjoy the salad bar. Chips are really nice! And the Coffee is superb! I also have to say that relaxing by the fire after a good feed is a lovely feeling. 5 star accommodation, so cosy in the rooms and romantic but also great for families. It is just such a lovely and cosy pub. Roaring fire with lovely seats. Great atmosphere. A truly incredible selection of beverages. Really tasty and wholesome food. Choice of two bars. Love the old school vibe of this place. The St Austell beers are a real highlight. There is a Pool table and a Dartboard upstairs which is such a laugh and also a rare past-time these days! I travel from London regularly because I just love to get out of the big smoke and spend time in nature and by the sea. I used to stay at the Exeter Inn but The White Hart Hotel has become my new favourite for myself, friends and family. Because we can use it as a base at the hotel and enjoy lovely meals when we are there and little Modbury, which is so quaint, and very English! I hope this review has been helpful, in depth and informative. I only really give out reviews for places that truly deserve it. I am returning in a few weeks with another big group of us! That's how much I love it! So look no further than this lovely place for a great weekend or for food!
