Wow. Kingsand is a hidden gem of Cornish beauty and the Halfway House Inn is the heart of this quaint little village. I stayed here for the night in a single room which was just right and very good value. The hospitality was friendly and warm but I cannot say enough how excllent the food is. The chef allowed me to adjust the menu a little and for those with a sweet tooth, I think her sticky toffee pudding could be the best I've ever had. I would recommend a stay at this superb Inn and if Kingsand is not on your radar ... it should be!

Had a 1 night stopover for work. I have stayed above pubs before that weren't great. This was a different experience. From the moment I walked in, the service was excellent. Staff were really friendly and helpful. I ordered the pie of the day which unfortunately was out of stock, however another diner recommended the fish pie which was amazing and the portions were beyong generous. Really would recommend this place to anyone visiting the area. If not staying over..the pub and restaurant are worth the visit alone

We had a fantastic time at the Halfway House Inn. The pub was buzzing with a great atmosphere, and the live music made for a really lively and enjoyable evening. Despite how busy it was, the service was excellent. The food was classic pub fare done right—tasty, satisfying, and exactly what we were looking for. It's clear they take pride in serving up hearty meals. Mike the landlord and the bar staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made our visit even better. The location is a huge plus. It's perfectly situated for a day at the beach, and we loved being able to easily walk to both Rame Head and Mount Edgcumbe House. It's the ideal spot to refuel after exploring the beautiful surrounding area.

Popped in for a very late lunch and the kitchens were due to close at 3pm. But the wonderful landlord kept the kitchen open to take our order. 4 lovely meals, big portions. We were absolutely stuffed. The bar staff were so friendly (shoutout to the lovely young lady). There was no rush and we were so well looked after. Well worth checking this lovely local.

Last minute booking and the staffing could not do enough, really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was superb and I cannot fault it, even my wife and she's fussy. I would definitely visit again even though I'm from Plymouth and it's very close, we used it for a night as we were at a wedding at a nearby Fort.

Disappointing visit. Ordered mussels, chips and whitebait. The mussels were undercooked/snotty. I told the waiter who was overworked and moaning about not taking her break, she literally made comments saying “Jesus Christ” whilst getting cutlery for another table. A refund for the dish was given but no apology at the time of the meal or at the refund from the bar staff. We left with no comment. Small venue that relies on the location and tourists, the menu is limited and the white bait was nice. I wouldn’t recommend unless you return in quieter hours. My partner suffered from eating the mussels and was sick Saturday night.

Lovely people, good food, vegan options, wonderful open fire. Proper Job on Tap !!! Food not cheap but that's probably more to do with the cost of living crunch I'm guessing.

A very nice, warm, welcoming coastal pub. Nice food. Bed comfortable. Shower great. Would I stay again? Absolutely!

Truly awful service from one bar man in particular who appears to be the manager. Dinner was literally thrown at us. Food is pretty average and the wine list is a guide rather than anything to choose from. A truly disappointing experience in what should be a lovely pub in a beautiful part of the world. Don’t bother unless you are looking for a real life Fawlty Towers experience.
