   Had a poor experience today, we went for a family meal 2 adults 2 children, both adults had lasagna which was extreamly dry and did not taste right at all, unfortunately my husband ate his and is now suffering from a bad stomach but I sent mine back and was offered a different meal or a dessert to replace I decided against it as even the children’s meals weren’t great just a super cheap pizza, and the other super rubbery potatoes and a side of veg smothered in butter which my child quite literally gagged at. I spend £70 on easily the worst meal we’ve had as a family to date. No refund offered just an apology now I’m £70 down with 3 hungry stomachs and 1 dodgy stomach

   World class food! Ate here a few times since the new owners took over, the English menu is good, the Indian one is amazing, world class chef, best curry I’ve ever had. Sudip and all the other staff are so professional, friendly and make you feel at home.

   Visited on an early Thursday afternoon. The pub was quiet but not unexpected due to the time of day. Me and my partner ordered from the lunch time special menu which is 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 drinks for £20. We asked for the starters to arrive with the mains and ordered starters of chicken tenders and loaded wings and then mains of lasagne and double bacon burger. All of the food was piping hot, great portion sizes and also tasty. Overall great pub, friendly service, great food and great value

   I booked 2 tables 3 weeks ago knowing last night would be busy because the band Nexxus were playing there. I rang and confirmed my booking on Tuesday for tables 1 and 2 at 7.30pm. Bang on time I walked in and others were sitting there, I walked over to the tables where a member of staff was talking to the people at the table they then ripped up the booking names on the table and passed them to the staff, I beleive this name to be mine. I spoke to a manager who said there was nothing they could do. I was so dissapointed as we had a surprise 60th cake for my husband Basically you book your tables well in advance and they give them away.

   Thank you to the red lion pub for making us feel welcomed. Mollie one of the waitress made us feel welcomed and was so polite when she spoke to us. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Can’t wait to come back soon.

   Went in for a quick drink. Ended up staying for a while. Had some great service by the bar staff Claire in particular. She made us feel so welcome and like we was regulars. Will be going back 100% next time we are in the area.

   Found this place by chance whilst looking for a bit to eat today, it's pub which doesn't claim to be anything more than a good local pub, and does it well. Lovely staff who were happy to have a lighthearted conversation. Prices were very reasonable. Service was good and good arrived quickly. Fish and chips (see picture) was tasty and obviously freshly cooked. My wife's veggie curry was adequate, hence the lower star rating. Pudding were of a goodly size and went down well. Will be coming back when in the area again!
