    The Gate offers a wide range of real ales with the option for ‘thirds’ if you want to try a variety without drinking too much. There is also usually a couple of lagers and a cider on tap. They do a mean Cheese and Onion cob too, perfect.

    This Pub has been constantly improving and is in the fifth stage of renovation. It's a friendly pub where everyone talks to each other and has a strict no swearing policy. The beers are from local breweries in Derbyshire, Notts, Yorkshire, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire. They are always fresh. No sooner a barrell is put on and it's all gone within a day or two. There is fresh food of a simple fare,ask for a ham or cheese cob,(bread cake) and it will be made up freshly. They also sell pork pies supplied locally and they are very tasty , especially with a pint of good real ale.excellent quality ales.
