   The food is spectacular! Great steak night value too and the steaks are from Barlows so the best of the best! My partner had the festive pie (turkey, ham, stuffing & cranberry) also by Barlows and it had a Santa stamped in the pie top, a lovely touch. Service was a little haphazard but pleasant, service charge added to bill automatically, asked for it to be removed as separate tips go to staff directly which I prefer to give. Parking is on street or across the road. The outdoor function room is simply stunning. The pub is a wonderful venue and one which should be supported wholeheartedly before it’s lost.

   We came in on Friday night for dinner and drinks in the bar. We were served by Hannah before we went up to the restaurant for a meal. We received a lovely warm welcome and she was very knowledgeable about the drinks on offer. The food in the restaurant was delicious and all the staff we encountered were lovely. We went back down to the bar after, the atmosphere was cosy and the decor tastefully done. Overall a great experience.

   Absolutely fantastic pub with lovely original features, nice fires and three excellent real ales from independent brewers. The Sunday roast was superb and the ingredients all fresh and full of flavour. Without doubt one of the best pubs going.

   Friday night dinner here with friends. Great atmosphere. Our server, Liv, was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. We had a minor issue which she resolved quickly and satisfactorily. She’s an absolute credit to the pub. Clare also came over and was brilliant. Fab food, great service. Highly recommend.

   Another fantastic meal at the Royal Oak! Came on Sunday for a drink and was able to squeeze in for their roast dinner! We’ve been here numerous times even had my 30th in their beautiful lodge located to the rear of the pub and we have always had fab service, fabulous food and the staff including the manager/s have been so lovely and welcoming. The Sunday roast they have is fantastic as well as their other food options they offer we have always thoroughly enjoyed. Had to try out one of their puddings with thanks to recommendations which did not disappoint! It was by far the best cheesecake ever! Will continue to return!!

   Food was good. The service was not so good tonight. We were a large party but some of us had finished our meals before others had been served. Our plates were left in front of us for a long while, and no one offered us a dessert menu, so we paid up and left.

   We had heard that the Oak’s Sunday dinner was good so decided to try it and weren’t disappointed. On the contrary, very friendly staff, attentive service, all made a fuss of our dog. Prices very reasonable indeed and generous portions of meat and full vegetables. WIne very well priced. Standard of food was really high - clearly freshly cooked and my wife’s beef and my pork were both done perfectly cooked. The test is whether you would go back and we definitely would.
