   A lovely village/town pub. Surprisingly large inside, with various rooms though so it still seems cosy. I was there for a late lunch with several friends. We all took the Early Bird Special menu, which was 2 courses for £20 or 3 courses for £26. For my main, I had the glazed chargrilled pork chop on a celeriac mash with a brussel sprout. Yum! Couldn't fault it. I scraped the plate clean. My starter was the duck pate/parfait served with toasted sourdough bread and fig chutney. Could have used another slice of bread and in my opinion the sourdough overpowered the duck pate flavour. The fig chutney was nicely made but again was lost against the strong flavour of the duck and sourdough. Individual parts of the dish were all executed perfectly. Just need to balance them out a bit more carefully. But I will definitely return !! My food and that of my friends was all beautifully cooked and presented. And reasonably priced.    Went for lunch today. First thing you notice is how friendly every one is. Then how really clean every where is the!!!! the food was excellent. We had the pate to share, divine, made on the premises. I then had fish and chips. The best ever. My friend had roast beef. Was asked how he would like it cooked, medium. He said it was extremely good. I then asked if the sweets were made on the premises! Yes there are. was too full to eat one so i got one to take home. I wish The Railway was a bit closer to me, but, cant wait to go again. Well done Team Railway. We had a really lovely time.xxx

   Very good selection of beers and friendly service. My partner really enjoyed the fish and chips but my pork roast was pretty dire, especially when you consider the price. The gravy was the worst I've had.

   Lovely looking building, nice interior! Food fresh and hot. Service good although we had to wait a long time for our dessert. Asked about it twice and they didn't seem to be entirely sure where or what it was. Was asked what we'd like for dessert twice more during the wait! Staff very warm and friendly though. Room was very warm and inviting!

   Came for a late Sunday lunch. We were greeted very kindly, the inside of the pub is lovely. Lovely options on the menu. Went for the goats cheese starter which was really nice and the leek and potato soup which was also good, although the bread could have been a bit nicer or even warmed a bit. Both went for the beef roast (pink) and it was beautifully cooked, really tender, I’d only say would be great to have just an extra slice to make it ideal! Sticky toffee for dessert which was good but we were too full to finish! Overall, really great, would definitely go again.

   Real ales, good food and friendly service. Although very busy, our orders were taken quickly, the food was delivered piping hot and was delicious. Its our second visit and will certainly return again when in the area. There are three or four real ales on offer. The menu offers a good range of well presented good quality high end pub fare. All three courses were very good. We took advantage of the three course set menu. Portions were of a good size and we left full but not overly so. Just perfect.
