I think it’s unacceptable to serve sit in customers coffee in disposable cups. It’s wasteful and it cheapens the experience. It’s like serving a a pint in a plastic glass.
One of Belfast, and Northern Ireland’s, quiet gems. Humbly sat – there isn’t actually an obvious shopfront sign – in South Belfast, Fruit Shop offers brilliant food. Not exclusively, but often naturally vegetarian and vegan. It’s not a giant menu. It changes now and then. But there’s always interesting, extremely high-quality and unusually-tasty dishes to choose. Whether a simple bacon bap, or an okonomiyaki (a Japanese pancake) that involves incredibly tasty vegetables, pickles and sauces; sticky, umami and delicious. Some of the best cakes, tarts and brownies around. Sourdough bread and a few other premium pantry items. Sit in or take out. Worth an extra few mins wait. Worth the couple of extra pounds price.
Great atmosphere and fresh tasty food. We had the Okonomiyaki and potato hash, and they were amazing. The baked desserts (make your day with a doughnut) and lemonade were also really nice.
Found them today by chance on a pickup next door. Sound people and a nice new business. Good food and coffee!
Awesome place - brilliant menu, particularly for veggies. Great coffee and baked goods selection too. We’ll be back!
Amazing selection of cakes and buns, we tried the miso cookie, blondies, salted caramel brownie and basque cheesecake and they were amazing! My favourite was the miso cookie crunchy outside and soft inside. Their coffee and hot chocolate were also gorgeous - if you are nearby you must call in for a coffee and something sweet.
We stopped by for some lunch. Great to be able to eat outdoors. The croque-madame with mushroom was amazing - the flavours worked so well - best I’ve ever tasted. Mitch - who served us was very friendly and helpful. We will be back!
