   Lovely cosy pub. Nice selection of ales. Large or small meals, beer garden looking out to the canal. Homemade food chips really nice. Polite and helpful staff. Worth a visit if in Shardlow.

   I'm sorry to say we had a very disappointing meal Saturday evening. Having had so many fabulous meals here in the past we met up with friends here after our recommendation. 7 meals, 1 sent back to be fully heated and then left as tasteless. About the worst fish pie I've ever experienced. None of the meals were up to the usual standard. Hopefully just a blip as this is normally a great place to eat with some good ales.

   Good place for food and a pint. Plenty of tables, excellent beer selection and good food. I’m not a huge fan of pubs which are essentially restaurants with a good beer selection - everyone (including us) was having a meal - which is why I’ve marked it down. It’s personal preference, and probably a minority view, and the only negative point I have.

   Great place to eat all week. Beautiful setting next to the canal and food very good quality. Lovely place to have a good meal. We had a few beers but food was between £10 and £20. Came fairly quickly. We last went on a Monday evening so not too busy but, due the nature of this place, if the weather was good, then I would expect it to be very busy at weekends.

   Nice little pub that serves very tasty food. It's ideal for us because we have two rescue dogs that can't be left on their own, so we are always looking for dog friendly places to go and eat. When you book, just tell them you have a dog, and they will gladly accommodate you. Highly recommended.

   Called in for lunch after walking from Long Eaton....food was delicious,hot and well presented,as always. The staff were friendly,attentive and very well mannered,as they always are. Looking forward to our next visit.

   The only vegan option they had was a five bean chili served with rice,, garlic bread and salad, although I wouldn't call a handful of iceberg, some red onion, 1 cherry tomato and 2 slices of cucumber a salad. The chili was tasty and spicy.

   Lovely pub near the canal. Started here for a quick pint before heading out on my new kayak. After a couple hours paddling down this stunning canal we ended up back at the pub for one more refreshing pint. Can't beat it. Youtube channel REYNOLDS outdoors
