Well, IIona is simply a miracle worker. Highly recommend. I hadn't had my hair done in a little over two years - I'm not the girly type and I get busy. But the transformation she gave me was outstanding, no judgement, pure kindness and a little much needed tlc for my hair. Thankyou so much.
I’ve gone to Ilona a few times for a wash, cut and blow dry and I am so happy with the outcome every time!! She has helped me in deciding what I want to do with my hair and has recommended me great products that have improved my hair health. Absolutely recommend. Thank you Ilona!
The worst hair cut I have ever received. I will never ever be returning to this salon and if you have an appointment, I urge you to cancel. Save yourself the trauma. I booked an appointment for a wash, cut and blow dry. I chose Allertons, Nottingham given the glowing google reviews. When I arrived, no one was present in the salon. I waited on a chair for 10 minutes until the shopping center assistant finally went to fetch the hairdressers from the back room. For the wash, I received one shampoo with barely any scrubbing (my hair was extremely dirty) and received no massage, but instead I simply sat with conditioner in my hair for 5 minutes whilst my hair dresser walked off. Her reasoning for this was because my hair was oily she would not massage the conditioner in. As someone who has salon work experience and gets their hair done a lot, this is extremely lazy, as for clients with this issue the expectation is that you are to remove any conditioner residue from your hands before the massage stage of the treatment. For the blow dry, she didn’t even bother to stretch out my ends. She then gave me the worst haircut of my life. I had shown her an inspo photo of wispy bangs with a fringe and lots of layers. In the moment, she clearly communicated she understood the look I was going for, and sounded knowledgeable enough to get me that result. She then proceeded to cut a straight line fringe across my head, with none of the layers that I asked for, let alone bangs. Don’t even get me started on the technique, she was picking up strands of hair individually and chopping them horizontally. I’m 99% sure her scissors were even slightly blunt given the state of my ends now looks worse than when I walked in there. She then straightened my fringe flat to my head before asking if I’d like any shorter cut, to which I responded yes, given it was sitting so far over my eyes. Now regularly blow dried, my fringe is hilariously short, with no shaping at all. To say I’m disappointed in my experience with Allertons would be an understatement. I have worked in a salon for many years prior and have at minimum, a basic understanding of the techniques and skills which should be expected of Lana (my hairdresser), a level 5 hair stylist. In my opinion, hands down the worst hairdresser that has ever touched my hair.
I can’t say enough amazing things about Lana! My hair was dry, lifeless, and in desperate need of help, and she completely transformed it. She knew exactly what my hair needed and worked her magic—when she was done, it looked shiny, soft, and healthy again. Not only is Lana incredibly skilled, but she’s also warm, attentive, and makes you feel so comfortable in her chair. She really takes the time to listen and explain what she’s doing, which gave me so much confidence. I left the salon feeling like a brand new person, and I’ve gotten so many compliments on my hair since. The cut on my hair looks fantastic! If you’re looking for someone who truly cares about your hair and knows how to bring it back to life, Lana is the one. I’ll definitely be coming back! (Helen x)
I had a full head bleach and dye, Charlie did an amazing job. She explained every steps of the (long) process and worked her magic. I arrived with black hair and left with a beautiful red! I am more than happy with the service, from the consultation to the appointment.
For my first salon experience I was looking for the best around, and Ashley from Allertons did not disappoint. He knew exactly what style would complement my face and talked me through everything he was doing and products he was using. Great to chat to and created an amazing experience for me. I’ll no doubt be returning to add a splash of colour to my new look (which my boyfriend loved for our anniversary!) Thanks Ashley and Allertons!
