Blagdon Lake is such a lovely spot and definitely feels like a bit of a hidden gem near Bristol. The views are amazing, with the water stretching out across the valley and the Mendip Hills in the background. On a still day the reflections on the water look incredible and it is so peaceful. There are some nice little trails through the woodland where you can go for a walk. It is quiet, with streams running through the trees and plenty of benches if you just want to sit for a bit. I saw swans, ducks and even a buzzard flying around. In spring the wildflowers make it even prettier. The old pumping station by the lake is interesting too and has a visitor centre where you can learn a bit about the history. The building itself is really nice to look at and adds to the charm of the place. What I like most is how calm it feels. You are only about half an hour from Bristol but it feels like you are miles out in the countryside. Perfect for a walk, a picnic or just to chill out and enjoy the scenery.

The access is prohibited by the Bristol Water. Strictly no access, Private property signs are all the way around the lake. Sad!!!

Amazing place to unwind and interact with nature, followed around on my walk today by a butterfly. Lovely scenery and wildlife coupled with a few benches and shaded areas to sit and enjoy it all.

I think I picked the best day possible to stop off at Blagdon Lake today. The water was so calm with no trace of a ripple on the water let alone waves. The sun was out, ducks drifting bye, and fishermen sitting in there boats chilling out. It was hot and superb. It did have a nice brew, sit and relax. This is a beautiful lake.

Amazing place, it's a one of a kind. Depending on the day you go, raining, sunny, you will see the outstanding beauty of the lake and surroundings. We cycled from Bristol and it was worth it a million. I have added some photos with the lake and surroundings and definitely is a place where to go.
