A hidden gem with a fantastic view of the Mendips. Plenty of room and nice clean facilities. Although its just off the main road, there are footpaths that lead you straight in to the hills. The owners are so friendly and helpful. We will definately be back.

Great stop over, one night only. £25- good price. Nice hot shower. Clean toilets. Owners leave you alone, with no hassle. Nice and quiet. This place is pre book, but I did just turn up. The owner was fine and allowed me to stay. So over all a good stay, and would stay again.

Had a lovey few days at Watersmeet, very peaceful. Great location for North Somerset attractions. Friendly owners, clean facilities, level spacious pitches. We also had some beautiful sunsets. Will definitely stay again.

Very expensive site for what you get. For 2 pitches between 3 people with no electric hookup. We spent £50, plus £5 for a firepit, plus money for the showers. Essentially you are in a field behind someone’s house off a road. Owner wasn’t particularly friendly during our 1 night stay. Asked me to pay for the firepit which I would happily do, he said I can pay later as we were leaving. I totally forgot, I then received a text at 10:30pm saying this is an ‘abuse of their trust in us’, we are ‘dishonest’, amongst other things. Really rude, unprofessional text and a massive overreaction considering we didn’t actually receive an initial reminder follow up text. Also the fact we’d already spent £50 plus for a singular night. I responded saying I totally forgot and paid immediately, no response. We spent the same amount for 3 nights on a lovely site in Cornwall with lovely site owners.

We stayed here recently and used the campsite as a base for us to set off on a hiking trip into the Mendip Hills. It's a good location if you're planning on exploring Somerset as there are a few walks in the area and you can quite easily join the West Mendip Way from here. Cheddar is also a short drive from the campsite; or within walking distance along the river if you fancy a long stroll. The campsite was ideal for us as it was very peaceful and relaxed there. The camp and facilities are kept clean and in good condition - the showers cost 20p for a couple of minutes. It is dog friendly and they have an area where you can let your dogs run free. Rick and Alison were very friendly and made us feel welcome. They were also very knowledgeable about the area and very helpful. I'd ignore the one negative review, obviously left by a disgruntled Victor Meldrew type character.

We are returning customers after a fantastic stay last year. Peaceful campsite, so much space and stunning views. Facilities clean and despite only one shower, the site is so quiet it doesn't impact much. Perfect base for a family to explore Somerset. Totally disregard the negative reviews, especially about the owners being rude. This is obviously just a disgruntled person with a grudge. Book with confidence. Thank you Rick and Alison, from The Boldero family.

A very clean and well organised campsite. Clean toilets with hot water and a shower (20p for a couple minutes) but again really clean and tidy. Easy access (we came in caravan) and beautiful views! perfect location for cheddar gorge and lots of other things to do! We’ll be returning.

Myself and my friend Brian came to Watersmeet for a long weekend visit camping (myself for the first time). We found the site pleasantly quiet and peaceful and the facilities on site clean and easy to use. We made use of the little log store at the entrance to the site to have cosy fires on the evening which was nice and convenient. The owners of the site came over to meet us and check all was to our liking and informed us of some nearby food establishments and places to visit, otherwise we were left in peace to enjoy our stay. We would definitely come to Watersmeet to camp again as we found it to be a peaceful and less busy place to stay, which was perfect for us.
