   I went to Birthday/Retired Party and was very impressed with the, venue, services, staffs and Manager, room and food. The venue was extremely clean and welcoming, the tables setting was wonderful. The services was professional handled by the staffs. The Manager was polite, professional and making himself accessible. The room was exceptionally clean and tidy and welcoming with all facilities, coffee, tea, biscuits etc. The bathroom was exceptionally clean and tidy with fresh towel, shampoo and shower gel. The food three course meals was delicious and well presented.

   I came a few weeks ago it was very memorable. I cannot recommend Bestwood Lodge highly enough. If you're into history, and having a whimsical, quaint time, this is the place. All the staff are remarkable. They attended to all of my needs. Im soooo glad i came. Thank you x

   We enjoyed the location because we came by car (free parking) and it’s easy to get on business. The hotel itself has such enormous character and we like finding places where the architecture has some statement. The staff are very friendly- rooms quite large and well fitted out. Dining room was a bit spartan but we had the set dinner menu which was very good quality- and we forgive these idiosyncrasies because we’re so grateful companies look after these older buildings and provide a friendly welcome with sincere efforts to put on a good set menu. Excellent!

   This hotel has so much potential. A great history and historic features, but it is tired and needs money spending on it. Rooms are clean but the decor is dated. Pipework bangs and hums. The restaurant is good value but souless. Staff are helpful and try to do their best.

   Stayed here for one night. The room cost £80. Very clean room with an en suite. The towel rail was broken but didn't cause us any problems. Bed was very comfortable and we slept really well. They do breakfast but we didn't eat here. Staff very friendly and helpful, nice area for a walk. Very peaceful. Would love to return

   We had a mix-up with our booking when we arrived but the hotel manager and staff were more than accommodating and sorted effectively. The hotel is on the older side but is still so beautiful inside and out. Our room was a little run-down but the bed was super comfortable and we had a nice sleep. The food, drinks and breakfast was delightful and reasonably priced! Overall the experience was made by the historic setting and how well looked after we were by the staff I couldn't give the hospitality enough stars.

   Old hunting lodge used by previous members of the Royal family while horseback hunting in Sherwood Forest. Lovey historic main entrance, you can see the history beautiful little church attached to the building, all set in the grounds of the remaining forest. Only had a few beers/coffee never stayed so cannot commit on the rooms etc. Partied in the events hall (wedding) which has its own bar. Carpark introduced pay and display last year at a guess it's probably free staying as a guest.

   This is a lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. Over the years I have had many enjoyable meals here and in 1989 had my wedding reception here. The hotel stands in what was part of Sherwood Forest but sadly no sighting of men in tights...yet!

   The Staff are wonderful, I know we might of been a little loud. Once I explained why all of our party were there they were completely understanding and just wanted to make our stay as good as it could be. Food was lovely
