The Joseph Else is located in a great setting, close to Old Market Square NET station. It's an adult only venue and identity cards are checked upon arrival for guests, with staff situated by the entrance doors to check. I ordered a drink after a long queue and the barrel needed to be changed, which happens but the man serving me had no manners at all, couldn't bring himself to say please or thank you, or apologise for my TEN minute wait at the bar. Come on people, these are basic customer service skills that all hospitality staff should have. He seemed utterly miserable with his career choices. There was no lock on the male toilet cubicle, which is dangerous and wholly unacceptable. Males deserve dignity and privacy, as well as safety when using toilet facilities. The hand dryer was also broken. My advice to the landlord would be to buck his ideas up. The whole place needs a refurbishment, better wifi, better staff and to ensure that facilities are working correctly.

This is a large, pleasantly decorated and very centrally situated pub. I found the service in Nottingham generally very good and this is no exception: the staff were welcoming and very efficient. The price of food and drink is, as usual unbeatable: by far the cheapest of anything comparable in the city centre. I noticed that they had a booklet (presumably common to all Wetherspoons) with helpful descriptions of the wines on offer: I really like this because it demonstrates a real commitment to providing good quality wines to working people. TOP TIP: as with all Wetherspoons, some of the clientele can become quite β€˜boisterous’ (aided by the best value booze for miles). TOP TIP: you therefore need to choose the best times to visit: my preference is for early afternoon or evening at weekends and at any time from Monday to Thursdays. Recommended.

Cheap drinks and right in the heart of town. Fun atmosphere with people from all walks of life. Meal deals looked good too.

Never ever again. If you want salt, just go other place.. We want 3 times or more salt. But they told that they do not have. I have never had these situation at any weatherspoon member... We had to eat without salt......

Maybe the reduced price beers had brought in extra customers but the bar staff coped well. I didn't sample the food but plenty did and seemed to be enjoying it. The premises were spacious and well lit. I took a seat overlooking Nottingham's famous Old Market Square and had a comfortable visit.

Packed solid and one member of staff on upstairs. Hardly any meals left on menu and this was at 1 o'clock Monday dinnertime. No sauces or condiments but the food was actually OK.. would not eat there again and would definitely avoid at busy times. We would rather spend the extra and eat elsewhere with better service

Strong selection of beers, including g world beers at fair prices. Great breakfast and a more than usually large pub menu. Would be difficult not to find something you want to eat. Will be back with wifey cuz they have her favorite, Leffe Blond, on tap.

This was a lovely pub to drink at during the night, where me and my friend sat on comfortable chairs with slick patterns! It was something unique seeing the staircase's design and the atmosphere was superb, with the tables having cleanliness maintained. The staff were really friendly and served me my drink very quickly, which was satisfying for the time!
