   During my recent visit to Hillsborough castle and Gardens, I was captivated by the stunning beauty of the grounds and the rich history of the estate. The gardens are absolutely enchanting, offering a serene escape filled with vibrant flowers, lush greenery, and well-maintained pathways and a perfect walled herb and vegetable garden . It’s a perfect spot for leisurely strolls and photography. The guided tour of the castle was particularly memorable. Our guide was knowledgeable and engaging, providing fascinating insights into the history of the castle and its former inhabitants. The interior rooms are a blend of historical elegance and intriguing stories, making the tour both informative and enjoyable. Overall, Hillsborough castle and Gardens is a must-visit destination for history buffs and garden enthusiasts alike. I left with a deeper appreciation for the heritage of the area and a sense of tranquility after exploring the beautiful landscape. Highly recommend

   We went with our 6yr old and she loved the Winnie the Pooh Hunt. We went on a BH Monday and they had fun activities on as well for kids. The Gardens are beautiful and lovely to walk through. We didn't use the main cafe but it did look lovely and reasonably priced. You can buy some of the produce which is grown on site, like the apples and pears which is lovely. We only paid for the gardens which was good value as our daughter was free. It seems pricey to go in to the Castle as well. If you don't buy online, you will end up paying the "voluntary" maintenance charge, which is not very much... But I disagree with this charge seeing as the whole area is owned by the Crown.

   Arrived with plenty of parking available and easy to find a space. Visited the cafe first and to grab a quick snack. Felt like queuing up in a canteen in one big line whether you want hot food or not and it felt very congested. Once you get through it all and pay there are plenty of tables to sit and enjoy your food with some outside also but be wary of all the wasps! After, we headed to pay into the gardens, we didn’t do the castle this time. It is expensive enough but there are concessions available. The gardens are very well kept and probably one of the best around considering how vast it is. Easy to follow map for the different areas and they even had a Winnie the Pooh honey pot hunt on with storytelling for the kids which was a nice touch. There’s also a cafe near the main house and a Lick ice cream hut, but it is very expensive and the ice cream scoops are tiny! A vast difference to the one in Newcastle. The gift store has plenty of touristy trinkets to buy but it’s so expensive and the quality of many of the items look poorly made. Overall a nice day out but it just didn’t warranty 5 stars given the price and value for money.

   Absolutely stunning walks. Beautiful everywhere you look. Bought our tickets online as public holiday just to be on the safe side. Easy parking and scan straight in. Great cafes and toilets all over are very clean and fresh. Kids Absolutely loved it Spent the whole day here. I bought a picnic, weather was on our side. Honestly so glad I finally came here. Highly recommended to the ones that love the outdoors

   Absolutely stunning gardens at Hillsborough Castle! Had the pleasure of visiting for the Honey Festival on the 7th of August and was amazed at how beautiful the grounds were. We didn't visit the Castle, but definitely plan to. It is a little expensive, but after seeing the gardens, I feel that it is worth it.

   Love how the walled garden is always evolving so there is always new things to explore. The whole place has really come alive with lost of little things for kids to explore. A hidden swing, some echo tubes, a wildflower meadow. We visited during the Honey Fair and the kids loved the story telling tent and the great selection of local food stalls and crafts.

   Right it's a nice day out but the house tour was far to short 5 rooms and you was out.You could do the whole thing on YouTube and save money.The shop was a lot of over priced tat. But the garden's we could have spent HRS walking around. How the tour guide was very good The ladies at the ticket sales fixed us out by getting us on a bus.The bus driver was very knowledgeable.And the guy who checked the ticket's was very helpful.But as I said the house tour was just far too short. It was simply the way in, plus a room between the sitting room and dining room and a small way out room.oh the long room with two chairs and a very expensive painting lol.

   Arrived without booking. Had to wait for availability of a castle tour but this worked out well as it gave time to explore the gardens and ground's and the outside of the building. Actually this was good to do before the house tour. The guide was enthusiastic and related events to specific parts of the house. Enjoyable, highly recommended.

   Lovely place had a coffee in its café then had a walk in its walled garden n lost garden. The place is a gem its peaceful but noisy. The noise is from the birds or the the stream at the lost garden. You can just hear the cars on the main road but wen you sit under one of the trees you lose time n yourself in the atmosphere. We didn't go upto the castle this time as I can't walk far but hopefully next time.
