Standard table table pub. Nowt wrong with the evening. Slightly slow service but nothing major. Food was decent, I had the festive burger and it was very tasty, can recommend the loaded roast potatoes.

Food was amazing and top quality. However because we werent staying at the hotel we had to wait 15-20 minutes for a member of staff to come over so we could pay at the bar for breakfast which i found quite annoying. The toilets were appalling one of the seats was only a third of a toilet seat and quite a danger. On leaving the toilet the hatch to what i can only guess was the loft area was open and ladders clearly visable. I did try and find a member of management to let them know but they were no where to be seen and as we had already paid and had food we weren't really acknowledged by any of the other staff members.

We had a complimentary breakfast associated with our stay in the adjacent Premier Inn in Broad Gauge Way. The continental breakfast (and toast, cereals etc., if you extend to the full cooked breakfast) are self-service from a medium-sized buffet. Cooked breakfasts are to order, and you specify the number of rashers, sausages, eggs (and type) etc. Not sure how well this sits with the advertised 'unlimited' cooked breakfast as advertised! Also, the main receptionist/waitress, who had been on duty the Saturday afternoon before as well as on Sunday morning, had a passive-aggressive way of doing just the essential, complying yet being snooty – unsmilingly and probably unhappily. From watching interactions with other couples too, it was clear that she didn't like her job.

We had value meals for lunch. All tasted good and had plenty portions. The only downside was they didn't have a take away boxes to pack the leftovers.
