The hotel was good at all. The floor in the room wasn't so good along with the tiles in the bathroom, but it's not the end of the world. The bed was fine even that it wasn't a luxury mattress. The money and location was good. The room was warm all the time and the staff was nice and helpful. I can't complain at all. Small, but tidy and warm room. Definitely recommend. Do not stay here worst place I've ever experienced, no heating or hot water rooms was disgusting, shower driping all night. Windows didn't lock or shut properly, pretty sure it was riddled in bed bugs! Don't go cheap honestly felt like I was in a hostel not hotel! Minus zero stars

I thought this was a good value, basic budget hotel. It is directly opposite a large Lidl store. I stayed in room 28, a small, very basic box room for five nights in early November. The receptionists were pleasant and efficient. The room was very well heated. There was a small single bed, smart TV, tea, coffee and a kettle, tissues, a very small chest of draws and a wall rack for hanging clothes; no hangers. There was also an en-suite shower room with wash basin. The room and en-suite were clean. Body Wash/Shampoo was provided as were hand and bath towels. The hotel has a bus stop right outside with lots of buses going straight into the centre. The only problem was that the WiFi was not working and this was not dealt with, despite numerous requests. TOP TIPS: (1) assume that the WiFi does not work in order to save yourself frequent bouts of apoplexy; (2) bring a universal travel sink plug; (3) the shower can sometimes become very hot at first, (4) shower floor can be slippery. Recommended for experienced budget travellers with realistic expectations for this price range.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!!! It is disgusting! You will come home either with BED BUGS or a skin infection. I had booked one night in this hotel for one of my colleagues, he called my at 9pm and explained the room is so dirty and disgusting he refuse to sleep in it. he was offered another room but it was no better. It was so bad he said he would rather sleep in his van. So he checked out and went to another hotel that was cheaper and CLEAN. The Bed was infested with bed bugs, the shower was mouldy and it looked like it had not been cleaned for months! And the carpet next to the bed looked like some one had died on it! Absolutely vile! This experience reflects a serious lapse in maintenance and hygiene practices. I would strongly recommend that management address these concerns immediately to prevent further reputational damage and potential health risks to future guests.

I've been a regular at this hotel for a while, and it's generally been a decent budget hotel but most rooms have small issues such as broken lights, broken blinds, windows that don't close properly, or a TV that doesn't work - but usually the beds are very comfortable and the staff are very friendly. However, there have unfortunately been a few times in particular where the cleanliness wasn't up to scratch. During my most recent visit, the surface of the bed was dirty and there were some bed bugs and my partner was absolutely covered in these huge bug bites the next day! I'm really disappointed after being a regular for so long, but the price is unfortunately no longer worth the poor hygiene.

Decent value for money. Room was clean and staff friendly .Giving 4 stars as pub opposite can get pretty loud, as other review mentioned some stricter policy regarding noice could be applied - I was woken up multiple times around ~3am when intoxicated guest from next room were shouting around and slamming doors. Also tiles in bathroom were cracked.

My recent experience with this hotel was nothing short of a nightmare. Although the hotel itself seemed decent enough, the owner's behavior left much to be desired. Initially, the owner was polite and accommodating, but as soon as we arrived back to the hotel later in the evening, his demeanor completely changed. He became controlling and rude, demanding that we go straight to our room and threatening to call the police if we didn't do as we were told. The reason we were taking a bit longer was because one of our group had lost their phone and we were searching for it. Despite our explanations, the owner continued to behave in an unreasonable manner, which left us feeling incredibly uncomfortable but we did as asked and quitely went back to the room. To make matters worse, the following morning, the owner was still rude and unpleasant. When we tried to express our concerns about his behavior the night before, he became defensive and dismissive. He then proceeded to kick us out of the hotel without any warning or explanation and blaming the fact we'd travelled down from near Liverpool. Overall, I would strongly advise against staying at this hotel. The owner's behavior was completely unacceptable, and we felt unsafe and unwelcome during our stay. If you're looking for a pleasant and stress-free hotel experience, I suggest you look elsewhere.

Very basic but good value for money in short. The room is a bit smallish. Good enough for one night or short stay though. The room and bathroom were clean. Very friendly stuff. Some things are outdated and would need upgrading, i e. tv. There's a pub and a bar with live music just across the road so it might be a bit noisy. There's also noticeable noise from other rooms. No bar or breakfast option.

would not recommend to anyone. manager is abusive, rude and aggressive. rooms are absolutely vile. toilet roll shoved into multiple holes in walls to cover it up. tiles are a mess in bathrooms. worst hotel I’ve ever been to, never going again. should be shut down immediately.

Appalling. Do not stay here, you have been warned!! We stayed in room 3 which was very dated and fusty smelling, the bed base was broken, the shower and toilet were in the wardrobe and there was a problem with the plumbing which caused a raw sewage smell when the tap was run. We asked the proprietor about this and he was aware of the problem and clearly thinks it is acceptable to charge £125 per night for this room. We have a lovely video of the room for any doubters.
